Responsible for creating web emails and editing web pages using HTML and
Front Page. Also doing day-to-day web site maintenance. Using content
management system to post new content uploads and content editing as part
of the Information Resource Center. Edit, and acquire online content.
Ensure that all content is reviewed, edited and published in a timely
manner and according to established standards and Internet practices.
Overseeing source document conversion, content formatting, and graphic
manipulation of digital publications projects, preparing publications for
conversion and publication in a variety of formats, scheduling and tracking
digital publications work, maintaining workflow and process documentation,
and electronic and physical archiving of projects.

Full-Time Senior Editor Production
Picking up galleys from proof reader. Making corrections using XML
coding. Batching all galleys after all corrections. After batching,
pagination is done and the book's pages are numbered. Once pagination is
complete the pages are saved as post script files and sent to the publisher
via FTP. The XML file is then used at the on-line build machine to build
the online version of the book for the web. The XML files is parsed and
validated until it is error free. Once error free the XML file is converted
to an online document where it's given a Quality Assurance check before it
is sent to the Web team to be posted live on-line. Once the online is
posted live the parsed and validated XML file is used to produce the CD-Rom
version of the book. The XML file is burned on a CD-Rom and a Quality
Assurance check is done. If all is good then the art work is collected from
the art Department and the desired number of CD-Roms are burned with data
and art work for distribution.
Manuscript processing includes tracking manuscripts through the editorial
and production process using a database and spreadsheets, formatting
articles, monitoring schedules, and corresponding with contributors and
referees.
Producing infobases for CD-ROMS using Folio Views
Mark-up and Validation of SGML and HTML tags for weekly publications via
e-mail.
Proofreading, making analysis, and solving problems concerning SGML,
HTML, and XML tagging of on-line e-mail products.
Producing and keeping current master indexes using Westlaw and Cindex.
Advising customer of any general information requested.
Making data conversions using QuarkXpress, Microsoft Office, Adobe
PageMaker, and PhotoShop for large volume copies of legal research data.
Also proofing and coding data for conformation of data being placed on CD-
ROMS and for print.

Duties included Mark-up and Validation of SGML, HTML, and XML tags for
daily online publication via an ATEX program or DTD's.
Checking all editorial versions of articles against online mark-up
articles to ensure accuracy of text, footnotes, figures, tables, etc.
Checking the accuracy of articles to go online against the original
editors print version. When errors or discrepancies are detected in the
online version, parse to define what corrections are needed, make
corrections, -SGML tags or editor's data - validate to insure corrections
were made and no further errors or discrepancies are found.
Keep track of incoming articles from editors and of the progress of work
on Daily, Weekly, and Monthly online articles until development and
production is completed.
Proofreading, making analysis, and solving problems concerning SGML/HTML
tagging of on-line products, i.e. Stories, Articles, and Journals.
Editing publications using QuarkXpress, Microsoft Office, Adobe
PageMaker, PhotoShop, and Lotus Notes for style, form, content,
completeness, and accuracy prior to forwarding to vendors to meet deadlines
for subscribers on-line and print.
