PROJECT PROFILE

Leading QA and backfill of interactive magazines launch for Kindle Fire

HDX. Project duration - 9 months. Team size - 78

This project was code named as Yellow Jersey. This is one of the prime

projects for periodicals. I was technically leading the content quality

with 7 member team. I was involved in daily scrum and twice a week bug

triage calls with cross functional teams.

SayHay depreciation. Project duration - 5 months. Team size - 22

Deprecating the existing workflows of periodicals and moving to SWF for

better support of new developments. Migration has to be seamlessly so that

publisher and customers will not get impacted. I was responsible for

operations related day to day are not impacted due to this migration. This

was a challenging task as I migrated existing scripts to a new platform and

the 24 x 7 process is not impacted while migrating.

Replica Magazines. Project duration - 4 months. Team size - 12

Replica is new format for e-Ink magazines. I owned for content QA for this

launch.

Sprint Projects (Duration of 4 to 10 weeks each)

< Never published ticket - Script to alarm when a Newspaper is not

published with in SLA.

< Core test engineer for testing PDF folios to Image based folio

conversion.

< Core test engineer for testing PDF to KFX (Kindle format 10) conversion.

< Feed metric logic - Alarm for e-Ink periodicals to ensure quantity in

< Content explorer - A feature in that Kindle customer can read previous

< Back issues in 'Manage your Kindle' - this was a project which

subscribers can access their old edition from store.

< DB to DWH - This project is for research of market and investigation of

issue. Data from DB is copied using ingestion services to periodicals

Virt.

< Cover image propagation - Ensure cover image is propagated to end cache

servers before mobi getting delivered to customers. Also the right cover

is reflected on store before magazine is buyable.

< Conceptualized and implemented Tag Parser - A tool to convert the PDF

into GFT( e-ink content fixup tool of amazon) acceptable format. This is

a self-driven project for improving operational excellence.

Small Rock projects (Duration 2 to 3 weeks)

< Publisher review process of magazines by sharing the mobi with the

publisher.

< Feed status logic for the magazines which are due to publish next day.

< Created a Dashboard for real time monitoring of Kindle periodicals.

< Created a script for generation of Folio (Adobe digital publishing

format) based files which resulted in 94% reduction of effort.

< Have successfully Configured Monitor Portals and Carnival alarms for

monitoring purposes.

< Store QA Automation - ruby script to crawl .com and UK store and

segregate attributes in excel format.
