OBJECTIVE
To secure a position in an organization where I will be able to apply my RF knowledge along with software skills that will lead to
a lasting relationship in the field of telecommunications.
EDUCATION
University of Maryland, College Park Aug’08 - May‘10
Master of Science in Engineering Telecommunications CGPA: 3.63/4.0
Cummins College of Engineering, University of Pune, India
Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications
EXPERIENCE
Global Wireless Solutions Oct ’10 - Present
RF Engineer / Software Engineer
• Analysis of UMTS RSCP, Ec/No and Pilot Pollution plots to check for overshooting sectors, coverage holes and missing
neighbors.
• Assisted in the improvement of the network by performing trouble shooting tests to identify the SC causing Dropped
calls/Blocked calls as a result of sector to sector handoff failures, verified the successful Handover from 3G (UMTS) to 2G
(GSM) and Reselection from 2G to 3G, confirmed the proper orientation of the antenna sectors.
• Categorization of drops by core network, poor coverage, RF shaping and Layer control by in-depth analysis on Layer 3
messages.
• Analyzing drive test data using NQDI to identify problem areas, coverage holes, missing neighbors and chronic drop areas.
• Worked on a project with AT&T for the design, development, testing and implementation of technical applications and
enhancements to internal Benchmarking report system based on RF test drive data.
• Generated benchmarking report based on the following KPI’s: Data Network Accessibility, Data Network Retainability and
Data Network Throughout.
• Software tools are customized according to each service provider’s needs and specifications for their corresponding wireless
technologies like GSM, CDMA, EDGE, GPRS, 1xEVDO,UMTS, HSPA+, WIMAX and LTE.
• Involved in the analysis of Verizon’s LTE drive test data and hence created datasheets and corresponding charts for RF
parameters such as SINR, RSRP, CQI vs. Downlink Throughput, MCS vs. Downlink Throughput.
• Developed new features for existing tool such as the Video Streaming Network Performance feature that provides a competitive
analysis of all the video stream tasks performed in the market based on the Drive test data.
• Developed Mapbasic scripts to automate various MapInfo Applications that produces maps for the detailed analysis.
• Generated various types of reports in Excel workbooks with charts, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Adobe
PDFs.
• The drive data from the SQL Server Database is extracted to CSV files and processed into different reports as mentioned above
using SQLite or MS Access.
• Developed Excel macro for summarizing the equipment faults for the SwissQual Equipment used for collecting drive test data.
• Involved in the migration of the Excel VBA application to VB.NET.
University of Maryland, College Park Aug ‘08-May ‘10
RF Engineer
• Drive Tested for T-Mobile network in College Park & Washington DC area using Proscout.
• Analyzed the collected data & sent suggestions to T-Mobile to improve their network.
• Analyzed the Network performance based on following parameters: Received Signal Strength, Hand Over, Bit Error Rate,
Frequency Planning (Co-Channel, Adjacent Channel Interference Issues).
• Radio propagation planning of Washington DC downtown area using 20 cell sites and further optimization of coverage footprint
using various techniques.
• Interference Analysis- Checked for Co-Channel & Adjacent Channel Interferences using Poseidon.
KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited (India) SEI-CMMI Level 5 May‘05-June‘08
Software Engineer (Tools and Embedded)
• Developed high performance MISRA-C complaint code for an embedded system on client-proprietary Power-PC based
hardware running RTOS QNX-Neutrino.
• Implementation of stringent change control mechanisms as a part of CMMI-Level process compliance.
• Involvement with testers for designing unit and integration test cases for all of my modules.
• Involvement with testers for development of automated test-scripts for system configuration and load testing.
• Worked on the stability aspect of the embedded system. This included code optimizations, memory analysis, process
analysis and CPU time analysis.
• Implemented the C++ code for the system modules.
