PROJECT PROFILES

3D Bio Printing

I am researching and modifying a 3D Printer for Bio printing applications. This is also my Master’s research area. Currently

(Dec 2014), the printer has been built and is being tested and calibrated using PLLA a medical grade bio polymer. This

research is in collaboration with the UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas. I am also involved with the development of a

multi modality process 3D printer which includes FDM, a syringe extrusion system and working on adding an inkjet head to

the setup. I designed components to be printed using SolidWorks 2013. Understood G codes used to control the printer.

Thermo Mechanical Analysis of Flip Chip Package using Sub Modelling Techniques in ANSYS

A simple flip chip package was analyzed for thermo mechanical properties including thermal stresses while cooled down

from 200 C to room temperature using ANSYS Workbench by employing sub modelling techniques. It was found that using

sub modelling techniques resulted in more accurate results.

Robotics

Performed an extensive project on programming an Adept Cobra i600 using the Adept V+ language. This industrial robot is

available in the MARS Lab of UTA. Also, developed an extensive user guide to be used for programming the robot by first

time users.

Dual Fuel Engine

Converted a 100 cc, 4 stroke Petrol engine to a dual fuel (petrol and LPG) engine and built a test rig to test the BSFC and

power of the engine in both the fuel modes as a part of the major project during undergraduate studies.

Relevant Course Work

Design: Machine Design, Structural Aspects of Design, Introduction to Robotics, Electronic Packaging.

Controls: Introduction to controls, Control System Components, Control System Analysis and Synthesis.
