OBJECTIVE
To utilize my leadership and critical thinking skills while gaining work
experience in electrical/electronics engineering
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science Electrical/Electronics Engineering, May 2009, Norfolk
State University, GPA: 3.69/4.0
Master of Science Electrical Engineering, May 2011, Louisiana State
University, GPA: 3.33/4.0
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
Summer 2008, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Menlo Park,
California
Responsibility: Participant of team in charge of writing programs in
C++ and VHDL code to provide a high-speed data link between FPGA-based
designs and a Linux PC, with the primary target being International Linear
Collider (ILC) detector development.
Summer 2009, Fermi National Accelerator Center, Batavia, Illinois
Responsibility: Participant of team in charge of testing,
registering, installing, and monitoring multiple AVTECH Room Alert
26Ws in Feynman Computer Center's computer room to monitor power status,
temperature, and humidity of the computers to reduce data loss and
amount of annual unscheduled downtime.
PROJECTS
Signals and Systems (December 2007) - Group Project. Responsibility:
Programmer. Constructed a robotic vehicle using a radio-controlled car
as the base. A T100MD888 + Programmable Logic Controller was
implemented into the system of the car and programmed using iTRiLOGI
Ladder + BASIC language to program the vehicle to move in different
sets of directions.
Communications Engineering (May 2008) - Implemented a programmable
logic controller into a controller along with a circuit of resistors
and bipolar junction transistors to control the current flow to simulate a
switch being pressed on a controller.
Control Systems (December 2008)- Used Lego Mindstorms NXT kit to
equip car and controller with an ultrasonic sensor, touch sensor, and NXT
brick (CPU). Programmed robot to "see" and "feel" objects in its path and
react accordingly.
Senior Project (May 2009) - Designing and constructing a
piezoelectric pressure sensor. Sensor will be used in a Post Office
Box Alert system. The sensor will be placed in the bottom of a P.O. Box
and, along with a designed LabView Virtual Interface, will automatically
alert customers when they have mail by email and/or text message.
SKILLS
Use and operation of scientific and data acquisition software.
C+ + Programming, MATLAB, DATS 8086 and Emu8086 (microprocessor programming
software), Multisim, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VHDL, National
Instruments LabView, iTRiLOGI Ladder + BASIC.
