I began my | | |career with General Electric upon graduation from high | | |school as a drafting trainee. My first assignment after | | |completion of the training was with the electrical | | |utilities group. I was drafted in 1954 and spent two | | |years in the army. Upon my return, I was employed in the| | |engineering services division (A&E). I worked with that | | |organization for the next 40 plus years advancing | | |regularly until I was a Principal Engineer in electrical | | |design. While in that capacity I worked on the design of | | |many of the Hanford projects (power, lighting, control | | |and fire alarm). Specifications Writer/Engineer . When a| | |need arose in our specifications department for a spec | | |writer I was asked to assume that responsibility. In | | |that position I was primarily writing acceptance test | | |procedures. I requested and got a transfer to the Quality| | |assurance department where I became a lead auditor. Due | | |to a management change I returned to the design | | |department where I was a group leader. Trainer/Engineer| | |. Again, to fill a company need, I moved to the training | | |department where I taught a number of courses in Human | | |Relations and safety. I was also a certified instructor | | |of the state defensive driving course. . Near the end of | | |1994 I transferred back to engineering and retired having| | |spent over 43 years working in the various phases of the | | |engineering field. | |Additional |While I have no formal education above the high school | |professional |level I have over the years completed a wide variety of | |activities |courses, seminars and workshops. The content of these | | |courses ranged from management, engineering, and quality | | |assurance to a course in production of videos. I | | |instructed a course in electrical design in CBC | | |Vocational department. | |Community |One of my most rewarding activities was my service as a | |activities |volunteer guardian ad-litem with the juvenile court. I | | |served in this capacity for 9 years. This involves | | |looking out for the well-being of kids who are the wards | | |of the court. I have served as an elder, deacon, and | | |educational director for the Richland church of Christ. I| | |served on the board of the Benton-Franklin Support | | |Network, serving as chairman of the board for two or | | |three years. I am currently the president of the board of| | |Northeastern Washington Christian Camps, Inc, operators | | |of Camp Prince's Pine. The camp has been developed over | | |the past twenty years during which time I have been on | | |the board and have served as president for a number of | | |those years. | |Objective |To obtain employment that will supplement my retirement | | |income and provide a challenge to my work and volunteer | | |experience. Employment in the engineering field would | | |utilize the skills I have obtained over my years of | | |employment and volunteer activities. | | | | |Security |I have held the top security clearance with the Atomic | |clearance |Energy Commission and the Department of Energy.
