● Planned and organized a computer center with 24 functioning computers with access to
electricity from the town’s grid because there is only a generator at the school to run the
computer lab and fuel is a problem to run the generator.
● Coordinated a computer maintenance workshop with fellow volunteers in order to provide
Gambians with resource to maintain computers without the assistance of a foreigner in the
country.
● Facilitated Life Skill classes with 30-40 youths weekly on areas of HIV/AIDS, sexual health,
relationship and gender issues in order for them to be advocates for their communities, which
lack information on these important subject areas for overall health.
● Tutored 10 students in English and Mathematics after school to have extra study time for these
subjects since school hours are insufficient and students are weak in these areas during exams.
● Organized, set up and trained 2 internet café staff to maintain and managed the café’s
computers and resource so that community members could have access to the internet since the
town has only one other café to support a community of 10,000 members.
