Earth Quake. Responsible to guide the Board of
Directors in compliance with Federal regulations
Hazard Mitigation for hospitals based on senate bill
1953 which requires hospitals to mitigate the Structural
Performance from Category 1 (SPC-1) buildings (those
that are considered hazardous and at risk of collapse or
significant loss of life in the event of an earthquake)
must be replaced or retrofitted to higher seismic safety
standards by 2013, or later with an approved extension.
Otherwise, acute care services may no longer be
allowed to be provided in the building(s).
Managed and consulted with architectural and engineering
teams worked with public /educational buildings
damaged in Northridge Earth Quake to comply with
Seismic Hazard Mitigation Program for Hospitals, and
Masonry buildings. Interface with OSHPD, IOR,
FLSO, ACO and DSA. Oversee the hazard mitigation

hospitals. Implement the Hazard Mitigation Program for
Hospitals based on Senate Bill 1953 and Federal regulations
in conformance with OSHPD.
Determine scope of work for compliance with
environmental issues (NEPA, CEQA), Historical status
(SHIPO) codes, and regulations concerning Federal and
States laws. Review proposed Architectural, Civil and
Structural designs for functionality. Determine eligibility
and compliance with Stafford ACT and 44 CFR. Verified
cost estimates and cost effectiveness to repair or replace a
facility. Monitor large projects during construction and
