PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
. Saved $2.2 MM by reducing the number of tugs in the fleet .
. Saved $75 - $100M in ship demurrage through asset utilization.
. Reduced inventory level 10% below the established target and maintained a
99% customer service level rating over the past 3 years for feedstocks
through planning and scheduling barges against the production forecast.
. Generated approximately $200K of revenue in one quarter by improving then
implementing a plan, which opportunistically outsourced specific barges
through planning against the production forecasts and scheduling based on
sales requirements.
. Saved approximately $1 million per day for a period of 3-4 days at least
once a year over the last 6 years by preventing the shutdown of an
ethylene cracker. Saved an additional $500K per year over the same
period by eliminating exclusive use trains to prevent potential
shutdowns. I developed a process, which simultaneously identified
potential rail delivery problems and prevented the shutdown of that
ethylene cracker.
. Reduced or maintained inventory levels at or below targets while
sustaining customer satisfaction levels of over 95% for the past 5 years
by planning and scheduling barge and railcar movements from multiple co-
product tanks across the Gulf Coast without containment issues.
. Replaced obsolete leased railcars with a downsized fleet of state-of-the-
art multi-use cars as a key member of a 9-person team. We developed a
model for converting railcars from 263 to 286 gross weight limit.
. Reduced Emergency truck orders by 85 % and corresponding phone calls by
70% resulting in a 50% reduction in over time for distribution. Helped
develop and introduce inventory information standards, transit standards,
distribution response standards and an emergency definition for Customer
Service to handle emergency truck orders without additional spending or
new systems support.
