OBJECTIVE: Seeking a full-time SAS programmer position.
HIGHLIGHTS
Offer expertise in SAS programming - Developing and implementing programs
to process unorganized/detailed data and perform edit checks to ensure data
quality for solutions, dataset creation, graph production, statistical
table and data listing generation using SAS software products.
EXPERIENCE
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Rockville, MD
Senior Programmer Analyst - 2000 - 12/2011
Technical Staff Member, Programmer Analyst - 1994 - 2000
Worked directly with principal investigators at the Infections and Immuno-
epidemiology Branch (IIB) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the
National Institute of Health (NIH) under the Multi-Center Hemophilia Cohort
and Support Services for Viral Epidemiology Studies contracts. Tasks
ranging from data preparation, analysis file creation, data documentation,
data listing, production of quality graphics and statistical report,
specimen selection, and other related SAS requests.
Performed maintenance and update for the Laboratory and Demographic
Databases System, which is designed to collect basic demographic data from
study sites and viral test results from laboratories.
Provided SAS programming support to the Office of Biostatistics, Center for
Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA). Participated in the process of reviewing SAS datasets (CDISC
standard) from the HIV clinical trial drugs database for data evaluation.
Also, developed a program using SAS macros to create a series of data
tables displaying statistical data for numerous HIV drugs at the baseline
phase.
Prepared analytical data files for clients' research studies at the
IIB/NCI/NIH. Below are details of some major projects completed.
. Urban Health Study (UHS) - Maintained and updated UHS demographic and
laboratory result databases for enrolled participants, injection drug
users, in the San Francisco Bay area. Assisted principal
investigators in sample selection for viral assays, data analysis, and
programming support for researches in various studies for
epidemiological investigations. Created data tables for a principal
investigator in a paper entitled, HCV RNA Levels in a Multi-Ethnic
Cohort of Injection Drug Users: Human Genetic, Viral and Demographic
Associations, which was accepted for publication by Hepatology in
January, 2012.
. Hepatitis C Antiviral Long-Term Treatment against Cirrhosis (HALT-C)
Clinical Trial study - Processed and analyzed data from a provided
HALT-C data set for a study which examined the genetic variation in
IL28B gene expressions associated with response to chronic hepatitis C
interferon and Ribavirin therapy. Subset the data for selected groups
of patients by study phase, race and genes of interest, and also
constructed data models to perform statistical procedures for
analyses.
. Ghana Burkitt's Lymphoma (BL) study in Africa - Built a database for
the Ghana BL study by selecting specimens for testing, merging the
clinical, demographic, and viral result data. Selected case/control
participants and created analysis data sets combining data from both
groups.
Atlantic Research Corporation (ARC) Rockville, MD
Technical Staff Member - 07/1991 - 1994
Participated in the database design and system development for the 'HOME'
Cash Management Information System for Housing And Urban Development (HUD).
Maintained the 'HOME' system using Clipper 5.01 to perform on-line
editing, updating data and generating reports. Also prepared 'HOME' Data
Dictionary and Users Manual Guide.
