WORK EXPERIENCE:
Upon completion of Explosive Ordnance Disposal School in 2005, I received
my jump wings at Army Airborne School. Early in 2006, I was assigned to
Mobile Unit 6 Detachment 4 and completed a condensed EOD Tactical
training course. I deployed to Bahrain in June. Shortly after arrival I
was sent to Lebanon to aid in pier and ferry searches' for underwater
limpets and IED's. From Lebanon, I transferred into Afghanistan where I
spent two months and disposed of 12,000 pounds net explosive of UXO's and
IED components. After returning in December from Bahrain I moved directly
into another compressed training cycle, which included Global Antiterrorism
Operational Readiness (GATOR), and Black Water advanced shooting school.
My final deployment with Mobile Unit 6 was in Iraq. During my time in Iraq
I responded to over 80 incidents that included IED's, house borne IED's,
vehicle borne IED's, weapons Cache's and UXO's. In 2008, I was transferred
from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 6 to Mobile Unit 3 and it was
there that I was selected to deploy with SEAL Team 7, Naval Special
Warfare. Prior to the team's pre-deployment training and work-up schedule,
I completed Military Free Fall school, and my Senior EOD warfare pin. I was
a team leader in Iraq as well as the lead EOD Technician on 87 combat
patrols, 72 key leader engagements, and over 47 riverine reconnaissance and
direct action missions. During this time I trained 40 SEAL's and 100 Iraqi
SWAT members on IED Hazards. In 2010 I deployed to Afghanistan with EODMU
3 as lead instructor for the new EHRC (Explosive Hazard Reduction Course)
Providing 800 hours of instruction including 90 hours of high risk
explosive training to 426 Afghanistan national security forces. Presently,
within the command I teach and evaluate advanced IED training for deploying
EOD teams, to include building and setting up IED devices.
