1994-1998 Ph.D. Analytical Chemistry, University of Washington,
Seattle, WA. Doctoral thesis: An Application of
Near-Infrared Spectroscopy For The Determination of Biomass
Viability. The thesis represents work performed in
collaboration with industry sponsors in an effort to
determine real time biomass viability in a waste water
treatment facility by combining instrumentation modifications
and statistical analysis.

Responsible for pharmaceutical grade preparation of
samples to be used in experimental treatment of terminal
cancer patients. Performed independent animal studies using
mice and rats, as well as analyzed the collected data
from such, and patient studies with the PET scanner.
Responsible for instruments, such as HPLC maintenance, and
radioactive labeling. Helped in other animal studies
involving dogs, cats, and pigs.
1988-1990 Research Assistant for the University of the Pacific,
and the University of California, San Francisco, CA.
Responsible for data and sample preparation to study
muscle contraction. Responsible for removing actin protein
from rabbit muscle prior to rigor-mortis, purified it
and analyzed using gel electrophoresis.
1985-1987 Laboratory assistant for NOAA, Seattle, WA, utilizing
radioactive labeling in order to determine the extent of
tumors in sea life, due to hazardous waste disposal in
Lake Washington.
Summer of 1987 Summer internship at the Whitehead Institute, MIT,
Boston, MA. Research involved the use of radioactive
markers in the study of muscle contraction of mice.
Classes:
1982 Animal Handling class offered at the University of
Washington, Seattle, WA. The class covered handling,
injections, I.V.'s, and euthanasia of rodents,
rabbits, dogs, and cats.
1982 Radioactive Handling/disposal class at the University of
Washington, Seattle, WA. The class covered the basic
principles of working with radioactive materials.
