Prior to the VIPs arrival, the team was involved in reconning the planned
route\venue for security related concerns, briefings on their itinerary,
threat analysis, vehicle\team assignments, and actions on contact.
On arrival of VIPs, while working with a team of MPs, I was involved in
escorting visiting VIPs to\from the on base airfield to\from the event they
were attending. During -and several hours prior to-the event, teams were
divided into escort and security teams. The Escort Teams drove the VIP to
the event and performed close protection for the VIP, while the Security
Teams secured the staging area and living quarters of the VIP until the
event was over.

as possible in order to plan manpower\equipment needs.
Teams were involved in receiving pre-trip route reconnaissance, route
planning, actions on contact, rally points, and any known threat.This
position involved extensive experience, basic driving skills and vehicle
mechanics, driving armored vehicles, motorcades and convoy driving, advance
work, follow-up and limousine procedures, deployment of personnel and team
detail organization, working the protectee, and communications procedures.
