2010 ~ Current

Working with Risk and anti Fraud group of AMEX credit card division that

deals with the linkage of American Express client base across the various

types of accounts, products and hierarchy and finally create one unique

identifier.

Another aspect of the project is to replace the Pitney Bowes account

matching system with an in house Global New Accounts (GNA) system. Once

completed this system will be responsible for the on-line fraud and

duplicate checking system, across the whole of American Express Credit Card

Division.

Role: Sybase DBA/Architect

. Analyze and recommend scalable n-tier architecture.

. Creation of Devices, Segments and Databases on SQL server

. Backup and restoring data on SQL server as well as on Unix file

This project was a Sybase Exodus/Migration project, for Barclays Capital

for the acquired Mortgage business from Lehman Brothers.

I had a do a detailed analysis of the servers and databases that had to be

migrated from Sybase from a list of 1500 servers worldwide. I provided a

detail effort estimate for the migration of Data, related objects and also

the applications to MS Sql Server and Oracle, so that the client had a

clear picture which RDBMS platform to choose.

The client chose MS SQL server 2008 based on our effort estimate, and we

received the whole project for migrating the Securitized Product Group

including Commercial Mortgage Backed Security business, analytics and

research.

Role: Lead Sybase Consultant/DBA

. As a Sybase consultant I had to provide a detailed effort analysis of

all code and data that needs to be migrated.

. Tested and provided the client with tools to be used for migration.

. Provided database sizing for new hardware and hardware that could be

reused.

. Prepared automated data migration tools for 25 databases.

. Fine Tuning of Sybase ASE Servers to support Legacy users.

. Migrated all database objects using tools like SSMA and SQL ways.

This project is on Digital Access Control of Video and Set Top Box

Provisioning in a Cable Television Environment.

The DAC6000 provides secured access control for digital video distribution

systems. It supports a wide variety of addressable functions including

IPPV, Call Ahead PPV, subscription authorizations, and interactive

applications. Most service provider billing systems are compatible through

the WireLink protocol.I was interviewed and hired by Sybase and placed in

Motorola.

Role: Sybase Consultant/Dba

. As a Sybase developer/DBA my role included performance tuning of

existing modules to achieve provisioning 5 million Set top boxes.

. Provide database backup and restore support to clients of Motorola

clients including Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner Bros.

. Installation of Adaptive Servers and Oracle Instances and their

configuration

. Creation of Devices, Segments and Databases on Adaptive Server

of less than 100k, while its competitors had subscribers in millions.

I was hired as a billing/rating manager to find avenues of increasing

revenue, and support the aggressive growth plan.

The subscriber base at the time of leaving was 1.2 million.

Mascon communications was the off shore development center of Comm Works

US, which was later bought by UTSTARCOMM.

Our project included development and support of the Back end Billing and

provisioning system for the VOIP system that interfaced with the soft-

switch. This system was extensively used by MCI World Comm.

Role: Senior Database Engineer

. Fixed numerous bugs and enhanced the legacy billing system.

. Provided on call support to clients including MCI.

. Developed bulk service provisioning routine to provide the extra

services in order to interface the with the prepaid platform.

. Implemented the Radius protocol for authentication of subscribers

UshaComm, India Feb 1999 ~ Jun 2003

Usha communications developed a telecom billing and Mediation product,

which was capable of collecting Call Detail Recods (CDR) from the

telecommunivation switch, price and finally bill the subscribers. It was a

robust product with a client base all over the world including North and

Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.

I joined Ushacomm (foremerly Ubest) as a software engineer and was promoted

as a manager in the support and customization team. I was directly

responsible for delivery of Change Requests and fixes to various clients.

. Managed and worked with small team developing the software using Power

Builder and Sybase.

Jayshree textiles was a part of Aditya Birla group in India. The whole

manufacturing, inventory, Accounts and receivable and payroll system had to

be computerized. I was a part of the Payroll and weaving automation team.
