RE: Employment or Construction Contract Opportunity
Dear Sir / Ma'am:
Please review the enclosed resume, which highlights the skills and
accomplishments that will enable me to contribute to your company's
success, whether as an employee or contract personnel. During my time in
the construction industry, I have demonstrated leadership and independence,
and would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss possible
opportunities.
Throughout my tenure as a building contractor, I have frequently had the
opportunity to use my talents and abilities to overcome problems and
unexpected difficulties. I enjoy the challenges involved in my work, and
applying my abilities to real-world situations. I also have exhibited the
ability to adapt to changes and new technologies (i.e. computers), which I
am called upon to use on a regular basis.
Thank you for taking the time to review my qualifications. I would
appreciate the opportunity to interview and answer any questions that you
may have.
You may also view some examples of previously contracted projects on my web
site v-builders.com.
Sincerely,
Vince Berry

WORK HISTORY:
PLEASE REVIEW WEB SITE "v-builders.com"
January 2009 to Present
V-Builders
Modesto, CA Owner
Because of the current economic environment and lack of production
construction opportunities, I have been contracting smaller projects
that can be completed with a minimum of hired labor. My son and I have
been able to work together and perform all trades needed to complete
projects, from total kitchen and bath remodeling, to re-roofs. We have
worked extensively in the past two years for "Zaiger Genetics" Modesto
CA, on various remodel projects
November 2008 to January 2009
Precision Ironworks, Inc.
Modesto, CA Manager, Design &
Production
I served in a contract position to design and oversee production and
installation for a commercial steel fabrication firm. Examples would
be, steel stair towers, railings, trellises, awnings and ornamental
structures. I had full control of all operations, from design through
purchasing, fabrication, installation, pick-up and quality control, on
jobs ranging from $25,000.00 to $750,000.00.
April 2000 to November 2008
V-Builders
Modesto, CA Owner
Contracted interior trim and cabinet installation for production and
custom home builders. Serviced as many as ten subdivisions at a time,
with production in each ranging from 3 to 5 homes a week during our
most recent building boom.
July 1998 to April 2000
Frontier Community Builders
Stockton, CA Owner, Production
Manager
Contracted myself to Frontier as production manager to build out a 150
home subdivision in Stockton CA. These homes ranged in size from 2100
sq.ft. to 3600 sq.ft. I had full charge of all operations, (with the
exception of purchasing) and delivered all homes on time and within
budget.
1986 to May 1998
ABRI Development Inc.
Modesto, CA Owner
Framing and General Building Contractor. This period was spent
managing my own framing company with as many as 125 employees. I had
one person in a small office and we ran our own payroll and
accounting. We averaged 6 to 8 subdivisions at a time, throughout the
Central Valley.
1977 to 1986
Berry Construction
Bakersfield, CA Owner
After receiving my contractor's license I began my career by doing
custom-home framing for a number of builders in the Bakersfield area.
During this time I also built 9 custom homes for speculation from the
ground up.
Thank You,
Vince Berry
