SunGard Asset Management Systems - Malvern PA
Senior Technical Support Specialist (March 2003 - Present)
. Experience working in a Global environment interacting with clients in
the Customer service area, as well as training personnel for technology
transfer.
. Software: Microsoft Office, UNIX OS, Windows OS, VAX/VMS OS, Global Plus,
ORACLE, Autosys, SMIT, Legato, ftp, ndm, telnet, WebSphere 6.1, XSP,
Unix visual editor, SQL, familiarity with Perl
. Oracle 9i, 10g, and 11g software and critical patch set installations on
test and production boxes. Refresh, restore, and recover oracle
databases from cold and hot backups as well as creation of new oracle
databases. Familiar with RMAN.
. Yearly rebuilds of Client databases to most current GlobalPlus Release
. Quarterly Maintenance Upgrade Patches (MUPS) applied to production and
test environments. Weekly patch installations to production and test
systems. Global Office and Power Image patch installation and updates.
. Execute closing of financial day for clients, and manage related data
communications from vendors to the processing center and to clients
. Weekly system backups of 40 Production and Test Aix boxes using Legato
backup software
. Troubleshoot and resolve application, scripting and system related issues
. Provide technical support to clients, development, and quality assurance
teams and familiar with changeman
SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, (GlaxoSmithKline), Upper Merion, PA
Gene Expression Sciences Department-Scientist (1994-October 1997)
. Integral role in the development of a manufacturing cell line for the
first fully human antibody developed at SmithKline Beecham; responsible
for expression, subcloning, and development of a stable human cell line.
This was important in establishing that our human antibody subgroup was
capable of moving a fully human antibody through the cell line
development process.
. Generated stable cell lines expressing a number of seven Transmembrane
Receptors.
. Expression and analysis of several antibody candidates from hybridoma
rescue and combinatorial efforts. Met tight timelines by rapidly
evaluating candidates at very early stages using high-throughput
screening methods utilizing Western and Elisa specificity and
Immunoglobulin concentration; thus enabling selection of lead candidates
earlier.
. Proficient in basic transfection and electroporation procedures for Gene
Expression. Expressed a variety of clones, antibodies, and receptors in
Mammalian and Drosophila Expression systems.
. Cloned and analyzed genes for integrity using GCG and Lasergene software.
. Initiated a change of many stock tissue culture media for three
departments to include supplements, thereby decreasing the risk of
mistakes while saving time and money.
. Present data on a routine basis at Departmental Data Club and Team
meetings. Work effectively, train and offer assistance to a number of
groups.
Molecular Genetics Department - Scientist (1991-1994)
. Combinatorial approach to generating RSV antibodies. Analyze clones
specific for heavy and light chains by traditional and PCR methods.
Biopanning of antibodies to enrich for phage bearing fragmented
monovalent antibodies (FABS) with the higher affinity for the respective
Antigen. Convert Fabs to Mabs by cloning Fab into appropriate vectors.
Analysis of converted Mabs and characterization of antibodies.
. Used traditional hybridoma technology to generate and characterize panels
of neutralizing murine monoclonal antibodies to (1) human IL-5 and (2)
recombinant human PLA2
. Produce serum free cell lines essential to continual work for a number of
team projects (PLA2, IL-5, RSV)
. Proficient in basic techniques in molecular biology, Biacore, and
robotics.
Cell Sciences Department - Associate Scientist (1988-1991)
. Generation of monoclonal antibodies for TPA, TNF, PLA2 and IL5 -
Performed immunizations of animals, test bleeds, fusions, cloning and
final characterizations of antibodies. Characterizations of antibodies
included: isotyping, partial purification, immunoglobulin quantitation,
and specificity (ELISA). Developed specialized assays such as
Immunoglobulin quantitation assay, competition assays, and assays that
mimic Immuno Affinity Columns
. Sterility testing with animal cell cultures.
. Familiarity with Geysen Assay techniques and Flow Cytometry.
Coriell Institute for Medical Research Camden NJ
Research Technician, April 1986-March 1988
. Tissue Culture methods utilizing asceptic techniques.
. Protein quatitation and Enzyme Activity Assays to determine
hypophosphatasia and Cystic Fibrosis in cell and serum samples.
. Monoclonal Antibody characterization used in Prenatal Diagnosis of Cystic
Fibrosis.
. Iso- Enzyme Electrophoresis studies for all cell lines in (NIGMS) Human
Genetic Mutant Cell repository and (NIA) Aging Cell repository Catalogs.
. General Molecular Biology techniques such as DNA isolations, plasmid
preparations, Southern Blot analysis, hybridizations and transformations
procedures were employed for prenatal diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis
. Organize work schedule, order laboratory supplies, maintain records,
perform equipment maintenance, train personnel, review current literature
