. Production support for 400MHz ARGOS transmitters incl.: WILDCAT, BOBCAT,
X-CAT Troubleshooting: impedance matching, antenna characterization,
power amplifier load pull analysis, PLL frequency stability, and EMI
. Applied wide band matching techniques to solve impedance tolerance
problems for under-sized antennas
. Investigated high accuracy and high stability oscillators for use in
401MHz and 406 MHz transmitters; using VCXOs, TCXOs, OCXOs
Design and prototyping:
Designed, developed and tested medium/high power amplifiers operating at
120MHz, 400MHz, 900MHz and 2400MHz
Developed 402MHz linear 15W power amplifier achieving very high spectral
purity
LNAs and up/down converters for a receiver/transmitter, requiring very low
phase noise and high sensitivity
Adaptive antenna tuner which protects transmitter from antenna impedance
mismatch
Oscillators and phase-locked loops for use in transmitter circuits
IF/RF LC Filters, such as HP, LP, BP, notch (at 1570MHz), and duplexer
around the mixers
Microstrip coupler power detector at the power amplifier output, in a space-
constrained application, that provided automatic power level monitoring
together with an AGC loop
DDS (Direct Digital Synthesizer) has been used for frequency measurement,
frequency compensation, and frequency synthesis
Various of on-unit antennas from VHF up to 2.4GHz including: Multi-band
vertical antennas, Helical antenna for Iridium satellite unit, Sleeve
dipoles antenna for Globalstar satellite unit at 1600MHz, Low-profile blade
antenna for container ship tracking at 400MHz, Length reduced monopole
antenna for a 400MHz fishing vessel tracker
