Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi - Abu Dhabi, UAE 2010 - Present
A four million square foot multi-specialty tertiary care facility with
adjacent clinic housing five clinic floors, three diagnostic and treatment
levels and thirteen floors of critical and acute inpatient units totaling
360 beds and expandable to 490.
Senior Director of Technology
Responsible for leading the technical management team overseeing the design
and implementation of the entire technical infrastructure and standing up
the service management processes and governance
. Manage a capital budget in excess of $100 Million USD and responsible for
a staff consisting of employees and contractors totaling 75-100
individuals.
. Report directly to the CIO and fill in as acting CIO reporting directly

consisting of more than 1,580 board-certified physicians and a support
staff of more than 7,000.
Director, Information Services (2008 - 2010)
Responsible for overseeing the management of all customer facing technical
resources and assets in support of hospital's clinical, business, and
research strategic plans in collaboration with the hospital's academic
partner, Baylor College of Medicine.
1. Successfully managed the re-structuring of the IS Service Center,
Hospital Communications Center, and the IT Project Management Office
within the IS department aligning management responsibility with
authority and accountability related to IT Service Management.
2. Implemented targeted metrics to improve customer service, provide more
accurate and timely software and hardware licensing reports, and to more
efficiently use support staff to substantially reduce support costs for
the hospital.
3. Had five direct reporting senior managers responsible for over 80 staff

4. Developed cash flow models and pro forma financials to predict future
cash flows based on payer contractual obligations and historic charge
capture information for the establishment of the Texas Children's
Physician's Services Organization, which is now responsible for provider
credentialing, payer contracting, and all physician billing and
collections at Texas Children's.
5. Identified and evaluated objective benefit metrics to accurately
calculate ROI of the hospital's multi-million dollar investment in the
implementation of the EPIC electronic medical record system.
6. Performed an in-depth business analysis of our Speech, Occupational, &
Physical Therapist productivity concerns and the development of a
solution.
7. Re-wrote the hospital's Charity Care Policy under guidance of the VP of
Revenue Cycle.

Responsibilities included the hospital's data security and network design,

12. Managed the hospital's staff of network and data security engineers and
project managers for a total of fifteen direct reports.
13. Established a strategic technology roadmap for the institution that set
technology standards for our LAN/WAN environments, firewall and intrusion
detections systems and practices, and the implementation of proactive
network monitoring to reduce unplanned downtime.
