I) OBJECTIVE

A senior executive position in a reputed organization where I can excel my

knowledge and experience towards a sustainable improvement of the company

by applying cutting edge technology through innovation to minimize the cost

of operations while improving the quality of information enhancing the

II) SUMMARY

I have gained over sixteen years of experience in the field of Information

Technology in diverse business entities, be it manufacturing

organizations, software development companies, banks or plantations

with a track record of consistently achieving the targeted results by

harnessing technology with operations keeping in mind the importance

of human resources in achieving the same. A firm believer in human

resource development to reap out the maximum benefits of the

information technology investments. Energetic self-starter with

excellent analytical, organizational, and creative skills specialized

in capturing organizational information requirements and addressing

them effectively and efficiently, through system development, system

implementation, user training, systems security implementation, system

maintenance and database handling.

III) PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1. A Multinational Plantation Company

Manager - Information Technology Projects (2008 - to date)

. Participated in Implementing the Hyperion Planning and Budgeting

System to be used by the plantations commissioning the post as

Project Manager

. Linking of the Hyperion Planning System with Hyperion Strategic

Finance, Hyperion Financial Integrator, Oracle Business Intelligence,

Oracle Financials and JDE systems

. Act as the Technical Lead in all system implementations

. Resumed duties as the Project Manager for the implementation of

Hyperion Planning and Budgeting System, Hyperion Financial Manager and

Hyperion Strategic Finance.

2. DFCC Bank / DFCC Vardhana Bank

Established in 1956 as a provider of long-term credit to the private

sector, DFCC Bank remains Sri Lanka's premier development bank, with a

stellar record of catalyzing the country's economic progress by nurturing

incipient industries and facilitating entrepreneurship in large scale as

well as small & medium enterprises. Today, DFCC Bank offers a wide range of

services to its clients, including project lending, credit line management,

investment banking, and commercial banking, venture capital, fund

management, stock broking and consultancy services through its

subsidiaries. It is a highly profitable multi-billion rupee company, widely

recognized as one of Sri Lanka's foremost financial institutions.

DFCC Vardhana Bank incorporated in 2003, as the commercial banking arm of

the DFCC Group. This has secured SL AA- national rating for implied long

term unsecured debt from Fitch Rating Lanka in 2004.This is one of the

fastest growing commercial bank in Sri Lanka having a network of 33

branches.

Manager - Information Technology ( 2003 - 2008)

. Be in charge of the core banking system and ensured round-the-clock

availability of mission critical applications like ATMs.

. Administered the SWIFT network

. Coordinated the system version controlling with the overseas service

providers

. Diagnosed system malfunctions and proposal of remedial actions and

ensured those proposals were implemented effectively

. Implementation of disaster recovery action plans

. Appointed as the DFCC Bank's representative for the implementation of

the forecasting and budgeting system of the bank and implemented the

system within a recordable time period of 88 days

. Worked as the Technical Consultant for the Hyperion Planning System

. Database Administration for Oracle, SQL and Essbase OLAP Databases

. Coordinated and managed the DFCC Bank budgeting process

3. National Mercantile Bank

This was the 26th commercial bank in Sri Lanka, equipped with state of the

art technology like fully Automated Branch Network, Internet Banking,

Telebanking, and ATM Banking facilities. The bank was acquired by the DFCC

Bank in 2003.

Manager - Information Technology ( 2000 - 2003)

. Acted as the technical lead for the core team for the

implementation of the core banking system

. Implemented the Internet Banking System assuming the role of

Project Manager

. Conducted information systems auditing and system quality assurance

processes

. Conducted end-user training

. Administered the core banking system, other supporting systems and

relevant Databases (Oracle, SQL)

4. E.B. Creasy Company Limited

E.B. Creasy was founded in 1878 by Edward Bennet Creasy and incorporated as

a limited liability company in 1929, becoming quoted on the local Stock

Exchange in 1968. The main activities are manufacture of consumer

disposables, marketing of hardware, Automotive accessories, Solar Powered

Lighting Systems for rural electrification, freight forwarding & export of

non-traditional products, and Software outsourcing Projects

Software Manager ( 1998 - 2000 )

. Coordinated the project management functions for outsourced

projects

. Negotiated and finalized long-term contractual agreements with

clients

. Successfully completed the computerisation project of the National

Mercantile Bank core banking system

. Acted as the post implementation technical support consultant

5. Korea-Ceylon Footwear Manufacturing Company

Korea-Ceylon Footwear Manufacturing Company, employed 3500 workers, all

subcontracted to produce shoes for brand names like Nike and Benetton.

Head of MIS (Management Information Systems) ( 1997 - 1998 )

. Automated the office workflow which expedited the managerial

decision making process

. Acted as the project manager for the implementation of the ERP

system (Enterprise Resource Planning System, STYLE 21), which

consisted of Material Requirement Planning, Bill Of Materials,

Inventory Management, Purchase Order Processing and Finance and

General Ledger Applications

. Designed and Coordinated the entire IT Infrastructure of the

organization

. Administered the AS 400 System and the PC Network

. Customized the Payroll System in-house having a workforce of about

3,500 employees

6. Comtec Lanka Private Limited

A computer training institute registered under the Ministry of Skills

Development, Vocational and Tertiary Education.

7. Advisory Council for Industries (ACI)

Enacted by the Industrial Promotions Act, No 46 of 1990, the main task of

8. National Institute of Business Management (NIBM)

the quality of their excellent training programs, including B. Sc. In MIS,
