(bacterial and fungal) of candies, eggs, frozen and fresh meat, value

added products; sterility test; potency or efficacy test of

disinfectants, sanitizers, detergents

. Serology - Enzyme Link Immuno Assay (ELISA); Fluorescent Antibody Test

(FAT); Agar Gel Precipitin Test (AGPT); Hemagglutination /

Hemagglutination-Inhibition Tests (HA / HI); Rapid Plate Test (RPT)

. Parasitology - fecalysis and intestinal scrapings (direct and indirect

methods) for presence of endo parasites; blood / tissue smears for

presence of blood parasites; skin and ear scrapings for presence of ecto

parasites

. Clinical chemistry - liver and kidney function tests

. Hematology - complete blood counts; hematocrit (macro and micro methods);

hemoglobin determination; platelet / thrombocyte count; erythrocyte

sedimentation rate (macro and micro methods); clotting / bleeding time;

clot retraction time

. Clinical microscopy - urinalysis (chemical analyses and microscopic

examinations); cytological examinations (vaginal smear and seminal fluid

analyses)

. X-ray procedures - plain (without) and with contrast media (GI series))

* Animal health monitoring and profiling

. Sero-immunological status of broiler breeder flocks and swine breeder

herds

. Microbial and sero-immunological status of broiler day old chicks

. Sero-immunological status (terminal titers) of broiler flocks and

fattener herds

* Sanitation audits

. Visual sanitation audits of production sites (grand parent / parent and

broiler farms, hatcheries, feed mills, dressing plants including area for

value added products, vaccine / medicine storage facilities) and the

laboratory

. Microbial loads of feeds (raw materials and compounded feeds); water;

fluffs; hatching / settable and table eggs; environmental samples

(surface swabs and air samples) from production sites as well as the

laboratory

* Experimental / trial procedures

. Cost effectiveness of new laboratory technique, reagent, equipment

. Efficacy of pharmaceutical products against respiratory and / or

digestive disease/s by lesion scoring (air sacs, liver, gizzard, gut)

. Carcass evaluation - water loss during transport from farm to dressing

plant; carcass yields; water uptake during processing

. Pharmaceutical and / or nutritional product experimental / trial flock

performance monitoring

> Administrative

* Plans and implements workload of laboratory staff and workflow of

laboratory analyses.

* Supervises routine veterinary pharmaceutical production, diagnostic

laboratory and research activities; implements approved new procedures &

techniques for improvement of set systems on board.

* Prepares reports of laboratory productivity, testing costs, monitors

inventory of supplies

* Ensures efficient and rapid dissemination, recording, filing of properly

prepared results / reports / documents / information emanating from the

laboratory.
