Cree Inc, Durham, NC Sr. Financial Analyst 2008 – present
Provide financial and operational decision support to the Director of World Wide Manufacturing.
• Provide analysis of monthly results of $322MM business unit, prepare quarterly and annual
forecast, and develop the annual budget.
• Own the Hyperion forecast consolidation process from model-rule design and integrity, to budget
model output, variance analysis and reporting. Improved accuracy to within +/- 5%.
• Advise operational personnel regarding what-if scenarios and cost-volume-profit analysis.
• Coordinate and support the $9MM capital project authorization and reporting cycle. Interface
with capacity and manufacturing planning groups to understand the overall level of actual and
planned fixed asset utilization for major manufacturing processes.
Quest Diagnostics, Cary, NC Finance Manager-Carolinas Business Unit 2005 – 2008
Responsible for the financial management of $80MM Carolinas Business Unit including income
statement and balance sheet. Provided financial guidance and operational analysis to the Director of Sales
and Operations. Evaluated financial impact of business decisions and opportunities by evaluating the
impact of key alternatives and translating ideas to profit/loss.
• Improved Operating Margin from 3% and $2.2MM to 14% and $12MM from 2005 through 2008.
• Analyzed, interpreted, summarized, and presented monthly financial reporting to Director of
Sales and Operations, District Sales Managers, and Regional VP’s.
• Performed profitability analysis on new contracts/proposals and made recommendations on
pricing.
• Performed and provided recommendations using NPV and pro-forma analysis on capital
expenditures and site expansions.
• Ensured accurate commission payments of $300K per quarter to sales force of 30 professionals.
• Developed sales targets using industry and market data for $80MM organization. Developed and
negotiated annual budget based upon these targets.
• Served as single point of contact between Corporate Accounting and business unit management
and staff.
Qualex, Durham, NC Sr. Financial Analyst 2002 – 2005
Provided financial and operational support to the Director of Customer Service and the Director of
Technical Maintenance.
• Provided trend analysis and forecasted call center scheduling requirements to ensure the highest
level of customer service in the most cost-effective manner.
• Utilized linear programming, regression analysis and other modeling tools to prepare and analyze
various call center reports for performance measurements, benchmarks and cost effectiveness.

• Conceptualized and produced a database and process to track/ensure proper revenue recognition
and payment for recycled one-time use cameras contributing $200K annually.
• Worked with Operation Leaders on reducing parts/repair & maintenance cost of lab equipment
through financial/process management of cost per unit measures and analysis of slow moving

Nortel Networks, RTP, NC Sr. Financial Analyst 2000 – 2002
Provided financial leadership to the Operations team responsible for global inventory/reserves and the financial
management of the Supply & Demand organization.
• Designed, built, implemented, and produced a Weekly Market Inventory Reporting package that included
Aging and Exception reporting. Key member of the Supply & Demand team that reduced North American market
inventory by approximately $100MM.
• Developed and negotiated full and mid-year budgets for a $75MM organization.
• Served as single point of contact between General Accounting and field management and staff.
• Provided reporting and analysis, allocations, and updated spending and inventory forecasts, to senior
management on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Performed additional duties that included database formulation, query design, maintenance of data
integrity, ad-hoc analysis/reporting, and headcount maintenance.
Bell & Howell, RTP, NC Sr. Financial Analyst 1998 – 2000
Managed the financial performance of a $25MM worldwide engineering organization.
• Provided financial reporting (expense), prepared forecast and projections, and analysis of results
to Vice President of Engineering, Directors, and field management/staff of five.
• Improved the budget/forecast accuracy of worldwide engineering function to +/- 2%.
• Developed a make/buy/lease model to facilitate management decisions to outsource materials
and capital investment.
• Performed NPV and payback analysis on research and development projects as part of a
profitability package to evaluate all new R&D projects.
• Managed capital budget of approximately $15MM, developed functional and project budget,
and monitored month-end closing activities.
• Interfaced with external auditors in executing the 1996 and 1997 R&D tax credit.
