Essential Responsibilities:
Providing customer service to employees and patients with filling medical prescriptions by entering drug
information, dosage, strength, quantity, transcribe sig codes and compounding medications. Answer
questions from patients and Sentara facilities personnel regarding pharmacy and drug distribution. Direct
workflow within the pharmacy, set up prescriptions for final check by pharmacist or doctor. Manage
pharmacy finances such as handle cash register, make cash deposits, make purchases of medication and
equipment, post insurance check and record spending. Manage pharmacy inventory such as receive and
rotate stock for returns, perform routine inspections of outdated medication and drug recalls. Conduct
training of new employees that rotate in the dispensary. Manage the narcotic inventory and count. Handle
posting of all insurance checks. Support my team by working in the extended capacity of triage and
discharge, telephone encounters and callbacks, assist at main desk and patient education.
