PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

A versatile electronic system technical specialist capable of working alone

and on teams in the design, building, testing, installing, validating, and

maintaining such systems. Have a varied knowledge in electronic parts,

systems, and interfaces with primary experience on SCADA type systems. As a

technician worked with and on flight hardware for spacecraft and aircraft

and in a semiconductor failure analysis lab analyzing CMOS integrated

circuit failures at the die level. Maintenance functions included

troubleshooting and repairing hardware at the system and component levels.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

From 1976 to 2011 worked as core member of a team responsible for all field

work associated with the Launch Processing System, a supervisory control

and data acquisition system, at Kennedy Space Center. Served in this

position as a technician, Field Engineer, Technical Specialist Sr.,

Technical Operations Staff IV and V working for five different companies

that had the engineering and O&M contracts for this work. The companies

were, starting from the most recent, United Space Alliance, Lockheed Space

Operations Company, Grumman Technical Services, Inc, Computer Sciences

Corporation, and Martin Marietta Corporation -Denver Division.

Technical:

. Built up, configured, installed, maintained, modified, refurbished,

and upgraded Hardware Interface Modules (HIMs) that are functionally

similar to PLC devices.

. Installed and maintained data links comprised of fiber optic and

copper links and associated active and passive devices.

. Performed diagnostic, and acceptance testing on HIMs and data links.

. Performed preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment and

systems.

. Proficient in using a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes,

DSOs, logic analyzers, signal and arbitrary wave generators, and DVMs.

. Conceived, developed, and implemented plans for solving unique and

intermittent problems. Designed and built test tools and aids for

these efforts.

. Worked with and troubleshot problems on IEEE-488 GPIA buses and MIL-

1553 like buses, on VME type hardware, and on analog and digital

circuits.

. Worked with microprocessors and microcode.

. Assisted in equipment upgrade design efforts by providing

specifications, data, theory, workings, and flaws of original

equipment and enhancement suggestions for the replacement equipment.

. Monitored health, status, and performance of equipment looking for

problems that could impact processing schedules.

From 1969 to 1976 worked at Harris Semiconductor, Collins Radio, and

Grumman Aerospace Corporation as an electronic technician.

. Proficient in using Tektronix curve tracer, microscopes, and

micromanipulators.

. Worked on production line troubleshooting and repairing avionic sub-

assemblies.

. Ran calibration and diagnostic tests on flight hardware for spacecraft

and F-14s.
