Organisation Profile:-
1. Currently working as Sr. Engineer, GE Energy Power Conversion,
Chennai, India, since April, 2012. Here I am working as Sr. Engineer,
Systems & Projects Engineering Dept, and my responsibilities are as
follows:
. Logic development based on the PID - Prepare Process and instrument
drawing, FBD, Flowchart, control write-up Basic engineering of the
Automation Systems.
. Support to.Engineers on Project Execution activities
. Prepare IO List, Prepare Cable schedule
. Support in Preparation of System Configuration drawings, cost estimation
and Detail engineering
. Submit drawings and complete approvals from customer end.
. Assist the Engineers in ordering and follow-up for 3rd Party bought-out
items for the projects.
. Support Engineers in Vendor Management and panel manufacturing
activities
. Commissioning of the Automation systems based on GE Automation
platforms
2.Worked as a Jr. Manager (E&A) in Plate Mill Project Division of Jindal
Steel & Power Ltd Angul Orissa, from Aug-2010 to Mar-2012. This was a 5 Mtr
wide twin stand Plate Mill, a part of 12.5 MTPA JSPL green field Project,
Technology and Mechanics supplied by Siemens VAI .This is an ultra modern
Plate Mill, like latest series of cycloconvertor drives Sinamics SM150
using IGCT device for switching control. DCS system of Simatic TDC,PCS7,
dedicated PLC for roller tables for identifying individual motors, Simatic
S7 400. Achieving through Finishing mill reversible top and bottom drives
of 10MW 2nos of synchronous motors. Reheating furnace of 280t/hr*2 capacity
and ultra modern MULPIC System.
Responsibilities:-
. Responsible for Electrical & Automation systems of Finishing Mill. It is
most modern steel plant with online diagnosis of Quality parameters such
as temperature, thickness, profile and flatness of Plate on a continuous
basis. Plant has planned to adopt, three level of Automation, Level - I
Automation system for Basic automation, Level - II system (servers) for
reporting & mathematical modeling and Level -III (Future) for interfacing
Production Planning Control and Quality departments.
. Erection-commissioning of all PLC(S7-400), TDC, Network & ET200 Panels.
. Network establishment with all electrical control rooms for plant network
and all field RIO penels for control network.
. Erection and commissioning of IMS width and thickness gauge, Pomini Roll
Shop.
. Ercetion and commissioning of ultra modern MULPIC system(Accelerated &
Controlled Cooling System).
. Cabling and erection of all line tracking sensors, field sensors, and
auxiliary system sensors.
. Commissioning of control system of all media system(Hyd. & Lub.) along
with high pressure desclare Unit.
. Calibration of all field instruments(mainly transducers) as per
requirement.
. Erection & Commissioning of FDA & CCTV System and their network
establishment through out the plant.
. Erection and commissioning of all the engineering stations, L-1 & L-2
Servers and HMI Systems.
. Modification of all the cable schedules/schematics, and also
addition/deletion of I/Os as per actual site condition and also
considering the plant requirement.
. Activities include Planning and execution of Maintenance schedules, SAP
implementation and data analysis for proper maintenance, Procurement of
spares (Electrical and Automation), Breakdown analysis and corrective
actions, Development of indigenous spares, Calibration of Instruments.
3. Previous Experience :- M/S Bhuvee Profiles & Stainless Ltd., A part of
M/S B.R.G. Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. For 2 Mtr wide Plate Mill,(4-HI REVERSING)
For Special Grade Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel. I have worked there
since July 2006 to Aug. 2010.Joined as GET and grown upto Sr. Engineer
(E&A), Plate Mill. This is a 2 Mtr wide single stand Plate Mill, Technology
provided by Convertem, UK and Mechanics are taken from Autokumpu,
Sheffield, UK. The Mechanics are originally from Davy United. Level-2
Automation system by Convertem PLC, VMIC0070 20 Rack and Fanuc RIO modules.
Mill capacity 6mm to 120mm thick and 2mtr wide, achieving through mill
reversible top and bottom drives of 4000KW 2nos of DC motors. Reheating
furnace of 160t/hr capacity and with online annealing, pickling, blasting
and water quenching system.
PLANT DETAILS:-
. Responsible for Electrical & Automation systems for complete line. It is
most modern steel plant with online diagnosis of Quality parameters such as
temperature, thickness and profile of Plate on a continuous basis. Plant
has adopted two level of Automation, Level - I Automation system for Basic
automation, Level - II system (servers) for reporting & mathematical
modeling.
. Proficient knowledge gained in Laser Gauges.MODULOC System,
. Working in TCS system for HGC, WRB, PVPC, GM, DGM, AGC system.
Focus Areas during Project & Commissioning in BRG Project:
. Commissioning of Converteam DCS system(HPCi Controllers) and Ifix for
HMI.
. A very good knowledge gained in Plate Mill Control Sytem(AGC, Level-2
Mathmetical Models, Mill Stretch and Zeroing operation etc). Individually
looking after plate mill maintenance and break downs specially realated
to finishing mill automation.
. To check the smooth operation and maintenance of all the equipments so as
to get the maximum efficiency with least number of breakdowns. Also look
after for all electrical machinery and its proper functioning with
adequate protection. Operation and maintenance of PCC, MCC, PMCC, 250KVA
& 500KVA D.G. set, AC Drive (Eurotherm SV Series, ABB SAMI Series) & DC
Drive(Mentor-II), LT motors maintenance and overhauling, 33/11KV sub-
station (in door & outdoor type) etc.
. Worked with Converteam EDC for Complete Plant Automation (Level-2) using
ALSPA C-80 HPCi controllers.
