Network Engineer Tier 2 /Team Lead – Level 2
Technical Environment: Multi-tenant MPLS DMVPN Cloud environment. Utilize VRF’s to segregate appropriate
site/client traffic and control route advertisements and access restrictions via route-maps with prefix-lists and ACL’s.
Perimeter security is maintained via ASA security appliances utilizing ACL’s and NAT policies to control access and
interface site/client networks into the MPLS Cloud environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Team Lead/Tier 2: Develop/Maintain network and process documentation for Tier 1/2 engineering team.
Provide technical leadership for escalated issues from Tier 1.
• Change management: Advertise routes for new or existing sites interfacing into the MPLS DMVPN Cloud
environment. Adjust ACL’s to grant permission in new access requests or implement necessary NAT policies.
• Incident Management: Troubleshoot escalated Severity 1 incidents from Tier 1 while leading communications
with client and/or respective SBU parties. In addition, provide requested RCA for identified incidents.
• Monitoring: Utilize Voyence, SevOne, AppCritical and NetQoS to maintain device configuration and
troubleshoot performance/utilization related issues.
Projects:
IOS Upgrades: Serving as implementation project lead of 7 engineering resources in upgrading IOS of 350 devices
consisting of various device types including, ASR, Nexus and traditional IOS devices such as 2600 and 3600.
Developed detailed documentation outlining access requirements along with step-by-step upgrade instructions for each
device type.
PVST/L3 Port-Channel Site Redesign: Identified a layer 2 Spanning-Tree topology consisting of several STP loops.
Designed a solution replacing layer 2 PVST integration into customer network with layer 3 Port-Channel and OSPF
integration.

CPE and the Telco DEMARC, Wireless AP troubleshooting and monitoring client core routers.

• Worked in a Network Operations Center environment that utilizes monitoring tools such that as HP

• Business functions included Backup Escalation Supervisor that is primarily responsible for Escalating both to
Telco’s Customer Relations Manager and the NOC Sr. Management team on high priority issues. Ensure that
fellow team members follow ISO20000 IT Customer compliant regulations and resolve network issues
promptly and most effectively.
• Work closely with Change Management to ensure all changes are legitimate and ISO20000 compliant.
Frequently interact with Clients’ Points of Contact to ensure prompt problem resolution and work with the
customer to schedule a Telco dispatch when necessary and at the earliest convenience to the client.

Technical Support Engineer – Sonicwall Project
• Served as Network Engineer responsible for designing and troubleshooting networks with Sonic Wall
Security Appliances. Scope of configuration responsibilities included implementing several security measures
including user level NAT policies for Authorization, PAT, access-rules, site-to-site and client IPSec VPN
configurations, DHCP over VPN, RADIUS authentication for VPN clients, and DMZ implementation.
• Troubleshot and implemented Fail-Over, High availability and policy based routing in both and WAN and
LAN environment. Subject Matter Expert for implementing secured Wireless LAN’s with Sonic Wall’s
WiFiSec wireless device. Additional security responsibilities included troubleshooting the McAfee Client and
Server Antivirus application.
