Desktop Publisher/Publications Specialist Chenega Federal Systems (CFS), LLC, Lorton, VA January 2008–March 2013

Provided support to the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) with the design, layout, edit, and the update of several key Program publications. These documents provided essential information about the Program to the Department of Defense (DoD), the HPCMP community, and the public. These publications included newsletters, annual reports, tri-folds, style guide, SOPs, and various other Program- related reports. These documents were created using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Word. Collaborated on several key HPCMP policy documents. Developed and prepared presentation slides and packages. Provided briefing support to the Director, Deputy Director, HPCMP Principals, and other outside DoD organizations with their graphics requirements for briefings, internal and external meetings, and various conferences. Updated, improved, edited, and reformatted the Programs’ core briefing slides using MS PowerPoint. Provided user support to the HPCMP staff with various software packages.

Reviewed and evaluated new directives and/or policies to determine if they are applicable to the HPCMP to ensure that the Program would be in compliance with the new policies issued by the DoD and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Disseminated this information to the Principals and administrative support staff; and provide training, if necessary.

As the CFS Team Lead, I supervised and guided the members of the Outreach Team, Plans and Programs Team, and CFS employees to assist them in their effort to familiarize themselves with the Program, its policies and procedures, and its staff. Initiated a plan to cross-train CFS team members in various areas of tasks assigned. Conducted performance counseling and evaluations; monitored and approved time cards; and reviewed and approved expense reports for CFS employees.

Participated in the planning and support for several HPCMP-related meetings and conferences. Provided graphic, desktop publishing, and administrative support. Coordinated with other Outreach Team, HPCMP staff, and the HPCMP community on all aspects of the conference/meeting preparations. These activities included the design of conference materials; financial tracking; contract reviews; location site visits; and the submission of RFPs to several locations for conference/meeting considerations.
