Objective

I am seeking employment as a Furnace Operator. I offer 18 years

experience in the steel production industry. After the closing of the

Gerdau Ameristeel/Sheffield Steel plant in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, in

2009, I was involved in the construction and start up of a new melt shop

facility in Madill, Oklahoma; this included the actual construction of

the furnace machinery and training of new employees.

Job Duties- I disassemble and reassemble pipeline equipment such

Job Duties: Receive heats in ladle metallurgical furnace,

homogenize steel, send test to lab, add alloys, carbon or other

materials needed to bring chemistry into spec., reheat steel to

casting temperature and add CaSi wire. Melt scrap metal in

furnace using electricity and oxygen in electric arc furnace.

Figure alloys and carbon to add to steel during tap into the

ladle. Pack tap hole in the furnace using dolomite and adding

electrodes if needed. Use forklift and front-end loader to

stock materials. Re-torque shoes on the heads of the electrode

arms.
