Responded to chemical releases on military installations as an emergency responder in which
Level A PPE was required. Inspected buildings and job sites to ensure safe storage of all
chemicals and to further prevent possible fuel spills or chemical release. Remediated spill sites
which may have resulted from illegal dumping, improper storage or other contractors on the
military installation, oil pipe line ruptures, removal of contaminated soil, asbestos removal,
medical waste, biological waste and any hazardous materials left behind by military. Received
and stored hazardous materials generated on military installation in the transition yard. Transport
hazardous materials under DOT guidelines. Able to conduct decontamination methods,
procedures, and best practices along with proper integration of local, state, and Federal first
responder during incident responses. Performed soil sampling use petro flag kit. Able to operate
such heavy equipment forklift,back hoe,crane and frontend loader.
2004 – 2009 Howard University Fire Safety Officer/Environmental Health and Safety

Performed fire inspection of all university buildings, laboratories, and other common areas.
Developed emergency evacuation plans for university buildings, as well as emergency
evacuation floor plans, upgraded all fire extinguishers throughout the Howard University
campus. Enforced the hot work program at the university. Helped the University environment
understand the value of having all buildings fully sprinklered with fire sprinkler systems. Worked
with contractors to ensure the university's fire protection systems were properly serviced,
maintained and inspected with D.C. fire codes and NFPA standards. Responded to chemical
spills in all university laboratory areas. Coordinated Howard University hazardous waste pickup
with contractors. Upgraded the university’s hazard communication system. Also assisted Howard
University Campus Police on university security matters and emergency chemical response
issues. Worked with contractors to conduct air quality, asbestos, lead, and mold test as well
