Dear Human Resources,
I am a self motivated individual applying for the Manufacturing Technician I. My career had been
dedicated to supporting the missions of my local hospital. Ellis Medicine's long history of providing
quality care to its patients is what brought me to the organization. In my current position as a Unit
Support Technician in the Emergency Department, I am responsible for providing overall critical support
and assistance to Doctors, Nurses and Physician Assistants. This fast pace and high stress work
environment has improved my interpersonal skills, and molded me into an effective and strong
communicator. All of which fashion a well-rounded individual and team player. I wish to apply that
experience to my new career in science.
In addition, I graduated a Biotechnology certificate program at Hudson Valley Community
College. This program has strengthened my knowledge within various disciplines of analytical chemistry,
molecular laboratory techniques, cellular microscopy, cell culture and general laboratory theory.
Although a recent graduate, I have worked through my collegiate years at Ellis Hospital and I have
successfully put myself through university. I was fortunate to intern at the Center for Functional
Genomics were I was immersed in the field of Bio-medical research focused using microarray technology
for gene sequencing.
The enclosed resume highlights accomplishments achieved during my career. Thank you for
taking the time to review my qualifications. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or require
additional information. I look forward to speaking with you in greater detail regarding this exciting
opportunity.
Sincerely,
John P. Akangbou
