Lost and Found Database Portland State Office of Information Technology

Improvement of procedural processes using technical resources.

Created an automated system for tracking lost and found within Portland State’s computer labs. The system

utilized Google forms to collect information about lost items and a web-based application to handle returning of

items. The application prevented erroneous information from being entered and automatically generated emails

for various situations, such as when valuable items were found in order to prevent liability issues.

Analog circuit analysis, filter design, and use of engineering skills.

Developed a device that monitored the frequency of a user’s hand motion through a hand-held accelerometer. As

the frequency of a user’s back-and-forth motion increased a set of 4 separate LED bars would display the intensity

of the shaking motion at a frequency. Implemented 4 separate, 4th order analog bandpass filters, one for each

discrete frequency range, at each level a RMS-to-DC conversion was used to monitor the power level.
