Supervised projects ranging from $3M to $5M, working on several projects simultaneously, and acting in the capacity as liaison as the Owner’s rep between the Owner and both prime and sub-contractors.

Supervised commercial construction and managed the onsite construction process, including bid procurement and contract negotiation; directed and coordinated all activities of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality and safety and expediting production.

Oversaw and executed construction from the ground up, including surveying, grading, concrete, framing, structural steel, underground utilities and all phases through finish; meeting budget and time expectations, and interacting with city departments, inspection agencies, municipalities, contractors & subcontractors, to ensure that building and safety codes were met.

Initiated change orders and RFIs, which included working closely with architects and engineers and following a strong commitment to quality and integrity.

Supervised several projects simultaneously and interacted with architects, engineers and the owner. Responsibilities included Project Supervision, scheduling sub-contractors, coordinating workloads and supervising a three-man crew.

Feb. – July 2004 Project Superintendent, AMD CONSTRUCTION GROUP

Orange County & Los Angeles, California

Multi-faceted supervisory position for the Los Angeles World Airports Sound Insulation Project, a 100-home sound insulation project.

Specific duties included removal and replacement of doors with jambs, retrofit windows, new installation of engineered HVAC systems, 200-amp. electrical service upgrades, roofing, framing, drywall, painting, sound baffles, blown-in insulation, and final cleaning of the homes, with a fast-paced, ten-day completion deadline per residence.

Provided containment for abatement of asbestos and lead, including monitoring air quality and proper disposal of contaminated debris.

Management duties included Project Supervisor, scheduling subcontractors, and liaison interacting with homeowners and subcontractors and coordinating workloads. In addition, scheduled and walked inspections with both City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles World Airport Inspection agencies.

Duties also included supervising a five-man crew, negotiating change orders, material take-offs and equipment maintenance.

Aug. 2002 – Feb. 2004 Consultant Field Rep/Project Manager/Inspector

JHTM & ASSOCIATES; Orange County, California

Construction Field Inspection & Project Management for the 25,000 square-foot-per-floor refurbishment of the 11-storey Orange County Central Justice Center.

Duties include coordination and resolution of user issues in the construction contract as they may have conflicted with the currently occupied facility.

Other duties included verifying the contractor’s full implementation of the contracted scope of work, ensuring that the contractor was diligently pursuing the work as scheduled, resolving and clarifying construction-related details in the field.

Responsible for the supervision of asbestos abatement and ensuring that the contractor’s quality control program was performing up to contract standards.

My ICBO (Building Inspector) certification provided valuable oversight in ensuring that the contractor’s work met applicable code requirements, as well as coordinating with the County’s building inspectors.

Nov. 2001 – April 2002 Glazier, PALM SPRINGS MIRROR & GLASS CO.

Cathedral City, California

Fabricated structural framework in metal; measured, order and installed various types of glass. Applications varied from residential to commercial installations and also included “Vista Wall” assembly.

Projects included Trump 29 (now Spotlight 29) Casino in Indio, CA; and an elite 29,000-sqaure-foot custom home in the exclusive Vintage Country Club in Palm Desert, CA.

July 2000 – Nov. 2001 Senior Carpenter/Quality Control Specialist

TANDEM WEST CONSTRUCTION; Palm Desert, CA

Responsibilities included all phases of carpentry, in a supervisory capacity, pertaining to custom-home building and commercial construction, as well as pre-final and final inspections, and interacting with various trades to maintain code compliance. Projects included custom home projects ranging in size from 5,000 to 14,000 sq. ft.

June 1998 – July 2000 Lead Carpenter/Quality Control Specialist

DESERT CITIES DEVELOPMENT; La Quinta, California

Performed in all areas of carpentry for custom homes and commercial applications; also handled pre-final & final inspections to comply with codes.

Projects included 500 custom homes, a four-storey 200-room hotel, and a 130,000 square-foot assisted living complex with medical and nursing facilities throughout the complex, in which hospital specifications were required.

Jan. – June 1998 Carpenter/Painter; SCHUCH CONSTRUCTION CO.

Cathedral City, California

Remodeled and rehabilitated hotels, using multi-construction applications required in all phases of construction, including concrete, framing, tile, electrical, drywall, plumbing and painting. Projects included building upgrades, remodeling and maintaining a two-storey, 160-room hotel.
