I love being a Nurse. I am so very proud that Nursing chose me as a profession. If I could, I'd volunteer my

time and help everyone without expecting wages. I am so very passionate about the health of our community.

I wish patients took their health care more seriously, thus, education is a big part of my daily duties. I cannot

change everything but one thing I do pride myself on is making sure that patients know that "I care." I want

patients to feel special and important, because, they are. "Service with a smile" is a must as I want everyone

I meet to feel appreciated and as though they have made the right decision by selecting to come to me and

my place of employment for their health care needs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

During my 20 years in nursing i have floated throughout some of the various hospitals to other units such

as Medical/Surgical, Ortho/Neuro/Burn, I've floated to Renal transplant unit. I have worked at Chronic Hemo-

dialysis Units and have performed Peritoneal Dialysis. One of my great loves of nursing is that there are

so many unique specialty areas to provide and care for others. One thing I'd like to share is that there is a

misconception that when one works in the field of Psychiatric nursing is that we loose our med/surge skills...this

cannot be further from the truth, Psychiatric patients have the same physical ailments as other patients do. I

have drawn blood, interpreted labs, I've given the same quality care as a hospital nurse would, the only skill

I've not performed in a while would be "start a IV", and I doubt that would be a problem.
