Summary

I am currently a 4th year Ph.D. student in Computer Science program at Indiana University. My research

interest is machine learning. I am currently working on on alignments for machine translation and seeking to

apply and devise machine learning to NLP. Besides, I have strong interest in neuronal network.

I had worked for several years as a developer in industry before resuming my study at IU. One of my works was

re-implementing speech recognition algorithm developed for Workstation so that it can run on DSP (Digital

Signal Processor), which required good understanding of the original code to modify it to the new environment.

Since then, my work centered on speech recognition solutions ranging from technology to customized

development. This means that I am quite familiar with HMM (Hidden Markov Mode), pattern recognition, and

handling large amount of data for training and testing. My major languages were C/C++ and Perl when I

worked as a developer and now I am mainly using Matlab and Python for my study.
