Chief Construction Quality Control Manager

As Chief Quality Control Manager my primary role is to ensure that construction quality meets all approved drawings,

specifications, Air Force Base standards, and required testing. Oversee the submittal process for Mechanical and Electrical

Quality Control Managers while recording all daily work activities to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Coordinate all

submittals for each subcontractor on this five -story 360 room hotel. Generated RFI’s and tracked issued RFP’s.

Visiting Quarters at MacDill AFB; Tampa, Florida.

Chief Construction Quality Control Manager for a new five-story, 202,078 sq.ft. hotel, over $41.5M.

Examine all levels of daily and completed workmanship. Generate punch and deficiency lists.

Provide approved shop drawings for a 360 room hotel; coordinate all submittal schedules.

Conduct weekly meetings with Owner to review QC scope and held teleconference meetings with the DOR.

Inspected and documented Quality Control testing requirements for all specified testing activities.

Ensure implementation on all metal framing, cast-in place concrete work, and auger cast piles.

Reviewe all skin related damp-proofing on walls to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Coordinate material usage for compliance with Indoor Air Quality Plan; for LEED “Silver” credits.

Construction Quality Control Manager

CQC Manager’s primary role is to assure that all materials, dimensions, and construct ability are as designed per the

contract documents. In addition, my role was as a liaison between the Designer of Record and the subcontractor to

provide the best possible product as per the drawings and specifications. Collected and managed all Closeout documents.

Combat Weapons Training Facility at Patrick Air Force Base; Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Construction Quality Control Manager for a new 29,000 sq.ft. indoor weapons training facility, over $8M.

Communicate Daily Reports to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District. Complete on time within budget.

Ensure implementation on all Tilt-Up wall panels, with embeds and reinforcement.

Prepare and conduct all Preparatory phase meetings. for each Definable Feature of Work, with each subcontractor.

Promoted “Safety First” as the site Safety Officer for a total of 43,000 exposure hours without incident.

BATES ENGINEERS/CONTRACTORS, INC., Bainbridge, Georgia 2009 to 2011

Construction Quality Control Manager

Quality Control for a new two story state of the art headquarters for MacDill AFB that meets all approved drawings

and specifications. Inspected daily work activities and generated reports to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a fast-

track project, additional responsibilities included examining all levels of workmanship, shop drawings, and inspections.

Joint Communication Support Element Squadron Facility at MacDill AFB; Tampa, Florida.

Construction Quality Control Manager for a new 79,000 sq.ft. Squadron facility, over $21M.

Reviewed structural reinforcing within masonry walls to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Prepared and conducted all Preparatory phase meetings for each Definable Feature of Work.

Instrumental in Winning the 4th Quarter U.S. Army Corps. Celebrate Safety Award for the entire Mobile District.

Documented deficiencies with truss erection, welding, and bearing connections to ensure compliance to drawings.

Coordinated mechanical work efforts for compliance with Indoor Air Quality Plan for LEED “Gold” credits.

Montage Deer Valley Resort; Park City, Utah.

Developed 64 condominium units in 8 weeks on schedule and in compliance with FHA requirements.

Coordinated daily and weekly tasks to meet our business objectives and project milestones.

The Las Vegas Performing Arts Center - Large Hall and Education Center; Las Vegas, Nevada.

Supervised development team on this $300M project on all “skin” and edge of slab -related elements.

Assisted in reducing overruns by $50M, to stabilize project within original $300M budget, for both buildings.

Participated in critical design meetings and documented changes.

This one-of-a kind art center had an intricate stone facade, located within a seismic zone, which required movement

isolation from all edge of slab conditions while navigating complicated load transfer details.

Fairmont, Turnberry Isle Ocean Resort Hotel and Residences; Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.

Project Architect for a 45-story, mix-use hotel and condominium in $200M range.

Assisted in developing product specification list.

Produced contract documents in Revit. Largest Revit project in company history, at that time.

SMITH BARNES SANTIESTEBAN ARCHITECTURE, Tampa, Florida 2004 to 2007

Provided Construction Administration for high-rise condominiums. Successfully maintained client relationship, which

Resulted in an additional $62M project. Attended on-site reviews, managed change orders and reviewed shop drawings.

Azure at Bonita Bay; Bonita Springs, Florida.

27-story waterfront condominium. $64M. Prepared technical responses in resolving RFI’s and generated ASI’s.

Communicated with consultants to assist that the project be within budget. Isssued Change Orders

Esperia South at Bonita Bay; Bonita Springs, Florida.

29-story waterfront condominium. $62M. Issued responses in resolving RFI’s.

Implemented cost-saving review by coordinating details, schedules, and finishes with all consultants.

Trump Tower Tampa; Tampa, Florida.

Assisted on preliminary specifications and value engineering discussions to bring costs below $200M, at a time

when material costs where fluctuating.
