2013
P&L responsibility for Tellabs Packet Optical product market management and
product planning. Creation and messaging of multi-year portfolio-level
strategy and roadmaps; partnership development with third-party technology
suppliers and business partners across several data/network communications
domains.
. Responsible for market management of Asia Pacific region (APAC).
Successfully positioned and delivered first customer deployments in
Japan and Australia in 2011 valued over $1M each. Extensive experience
in business development with accounts in China and India particularly
with cost-sensitive proposals and post-sales support and services.
Delivered over $28M of annual revenue in 2011 from these accounts.

2005 - 2010
Directed 60-person, multi-national development team with $12M annual
budget. Responsible for all aspects of Optical Transport hardware
organization from technology selection through new product development and
introduction, including regulatory and ISO9000 compliance. Product
lifecycle management including sustainability, quality improvement and cost
reductions.
. Led Hardware Development Team of next-generation Optical Transport
product, successfully delivering product to win from Verizon
Communications Inc. over 11 competitors creating $280M annual business
- Tellabs' largest single product win
. Created and managed multi-national hardware development organization
with facilities in Naperville, IL and Shanghai, China. Established
expanded engagements with multinational vendors for manufacturing,
prototyping and production in the US, India, Mexico and China.
. Identified, developed, negotiated, contracted with and nurtured a
select group of optical component and product providers supplying over
$50M in products annually. Responsible for all technology selections
and part pricing
. Successfully directed aggressive deployment schedules, coupled with
phased cost reduction and quality improvement programs, to provide a

cost reduction and second-sourcing effort, exceeding annual saving in

2003 - 2005
Delivered significant cost reduction solutions to extend Tellabs 5500
product growth cycle.
. Delivered more than $50M in cost savings, generating an effective,
high-margin product solution at the height of a product growth cycle
by targeting FPGA and ASIC sockets as well as 2nd source ASIC
engagements.
. Cut over $500 per module in costs on each of four devices through
effective leadership and management of Quad-Trooper ASIC development
in 90nm technology
. Saved over $300 per module on 5500, DS3 product via successful
management and deployment of Thrifty ASIC.
. Managed and deployed two ASIC in 0.35u technology for DS1-OC1 and OC12

Lead CMOS Integrated Circuit and ASIC/SoC (System on a Chip) development
for successful technology applications for Tellabs 5500, 6500, Cable-Span
product lines.
. Built new ASIC development environment as owner of the libraries,
tools and development process. Over 13 ASIC developments were
completed during this time frame.
. Established manufacturing relationship with numerous overseas ASIC
manufacturers.
. Secured replacement and redesign ASIC for original Tellabs 5300-5500
product line ASICs developed in early 1990's.
Senior & Lead Engineer: ASIC Development 1990 - 1995
Engaged in numerous successful 5500, Data, Cablespan, and Echo product
developments.
. Lead developer for architecture design, feasibility analysis,
specification development, VLSI vendor selection, detail design,
validation effort, and implementation and product integration effort
of multiple IC developments particularly for Tellabs 5500 product
line. It should be noted that success of 5500 product line with its
effective cost margins were in part due to availability of these cost-
effective ASICs.
