ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Wireless Sensor Networks: Project describes the concept, applications & challenges of Wireless Sensor
Networks. We talked about fading, energy efficiency & routing in Wireless sensor networks. The IEEE & ZigBEE
standards were compared
Network simulation with OPNET: Performed an analysis of a customized network to simulate an office.
Analyzed collision count, traffic sent & traffic received in time average in various configurations of the network
Maximum Likelihood Detection using MATLAB: Designed a Viterbi sequence detector to obtain the Maximum
Likelihood detected sequence & compared with that of hard limiter. The result was increasing SNR would
decrease BER and the Maximum Likelihood decision based on Viterbi algorithm outperforms that of hard limiter,
especially in higher SNR values.
Parking Assistance with Microcontrollers: Created a parking enhancement system with the help of
microcontrollers and the motive was to provide assistance for intelligent parking with the use of Wireless Sensors
& Microcontrollers.
Finger print scanner: Assisted in creating a finger print scanner running on AFIS principle which could access
with a database in the web, thus making it effective
Presented on the topic SC-FDMA v OFDMA: Besides the other differences the importance of using SC-FDMA
in uplink for 4G LTE due to low peak to average power ratio is beneficial was explained
