Work Experience
Neuroengineering Lab, Bioengineering, UT-Arlington and UT Southwestern Dallas, TX
Research Assistant Aug, ‘11 – Jun ‘13
Project lead responsible for design and characterization of microfluidic devices for application in
high throughput cancer drug screening.
Fabricated tissue engineered bone grafts and vascular grafts using collagen for biomedical
applications.
Involved in design, development and testing of biomimetic corneal tissue as an alternative to
current corneal transplants.
Used Solid Works to analyze the effect of mechanical stress and compression on the nature of
bone graft being designed in the laboratory.
Performed mechanical characterization studies (suture strength, shear stress, elasticity,
transparency) of the assembled constructs.
Performed cell culture, Immunostaining, cell based assays, tissue fixation and histology.
Conducted in-vivo and in-vitro studies to evaluate the engineered constructs.
Responsibilities also included cell line maintenance, data analysis, inventory management, grant
writing, instrument maintenance, media and buffer preparation, training graduate and
undergraduate students.
Aurobindo Pharma Ltd, India.
Quality Control Intern Feb, ’10 – Dec, ‘10
Performed quality assurance testing of pharmaceutical drugs (amoxicillin trihydrate) using
physical, chemical and analytical techniques to comply with the FDA regulations.
Working experience with modern instrumentation and techniques like FTIR, Gas
Chromatography, HPCL, Mass Spectrometry and Polarimetery for purity characterization.
Academic Projects
Digital Signal Processing
Used Signal processing algorithms and methods including FIR, FFT,IIR, sampling to analyze
biological- ECG signal.
Implemented MATLAB to design multiple filters (FIR,Butterworth, and Chebyshev) to eliminate
noise from ECG signal.
Statistical Methods in Clinical Trials
Analyzed statistical data for the endpoint (response variable) using Log-Rank test and The Cox
Proportional Hazards models.
Analyzed data with various models available within SAS including ANCOVA and ANOVA analysis
for data from an experiment to reduce dental caries.
