Senior Project Manager, ManTech International Corp., Hinton WV, (2008 - 2012)
• Served as Deputy PM on a multi-million dollar research project leading a team of scientists and
subject matter experts in developing a structured approach to finding nanotechnology solutions to
assist the US Army in overcoming their estimated $4 Billion per year corrosion problem.
• Created a framework, knowledge base, risk assessment and mitigation plan, and strategy for the
application of nano-engineered coatings and/or materials specifically designed to mitigate
corrosion.
• Established a foundational assessment of current nanotechnology corrosion research and
development, commercial products, and existing US Army corrosion prevention and control.
• Developed a complex rating scheme to narrow the possible nanotechnology solution to three
products
• Developed test plans, coordinated laboratory testing and evaluation, and analyzed the test results
from selected anti-corrosion nanotechnology products.
• Made recommendations to the customer that would significantly reduce their cost of corrosion by
reducing maintenance time, frequency, man-hours, and increasing operational readiness.
• Ensured the project remained in scope, was executed according to the SOW and project plan, and
all project deliverables were delivered on schedule, within budget, and of the highest quality.
Project Manager/Senior Project Manager, ManTech International Corp., Hinton WV, (2004 - 2008)
• Led a team of developers, engineers, analysts, and technicians in the planning, design,
development, testing, operation, and maintenance of the Department of Defense (DoD)
Nanotechnology and Logistics (NanoLog) and the DoD Corrosion Exchange (DoDCE) e-Portals
and Community of Practice(CoP).
1
• Used work breakdown structures, risk and configuration management, resource loading and
leveling, project monitoring/controlling, and quality assurance to execute the projects according
to the SOW and project plans while remaining in scope, within budget, and on schedule.
• Used software requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and management techniques to
ensure the websites met the needs of the customer and stakeholders.
• Authored white papers, abstracts, and gave presentations promoting the DoDCE at national
conferences such as NACE, MegaRust, Tri-Service, and the US Army Corrosion Summit.
• Increased membership in the NanoLog CoP to 1,000 nanotechnology professionals and the
DoDCE CoP to 2,600 corrosion professionals from Government, Industry, and Academia.
• Served as a member of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Corrosion Prevention and Control
Integrated Product Team (CPC IPT) whose mission was to implement strategies, determine
objectives, and develop and execute plans, procedures, and roadmaps to reduce the overall impact
of corrosion on DoD assets.
Senior Systems Analyst, Downey Information Systems, Inc., Hinton WV, (2001 - 2004)
• Provided operational and technical direction to staff of 26 technicians in the research and
processing of logistical data pertaining to naval aircraft (E2C, C2A, and TE2).
• Coordinated data collection, processing, quality assurance, and reporting.
• Developed operational plans, working aids, and user manuals to standardize data processing
activities and facilitate the training of new personnel.
• Drafted daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports for internal and external customers.
• Achieved 98% overall accuracy of all data delivered to the customer.
Staff Scientist, Science Applications International Corporation, Chantilly VA, (1998 - 2001)
• Managed the Mission Data Center - East remotely sensed imagery, metadata, and ground truth
data processing and archiving facility.
• Developed the concept of operations, standard operating procedures, work flow, and data quality
management plan for the facility.
• Coordinated data collection, processing, and quality assurance requirements, developed
operational plans and working aids, managed daily operations, specified procurement actions,
managed hardware, software, and network configurations, and served as the focal point for
operations planning and execution.
• Streamlined work processes and flow to decrease image processing time by 25% resulting in
saved man-hours, computing resources, and faster data availability for analysis.
• Provided operational and technical direction to staff of 15.
