• Served as Deputy PM on a multi-million dollar research project leading a team of scientists and

subject matter experts in developing a structured approach to finding nanotechnology solutions to

assist the US Army in overcoming their estimated $4 Billion per year corrosion problem.

• Created a framework, knowledge base, risk assessment and mitigation plan, and strategy for the

application of nano-engineered coatings and/or materials specifically designed to mitigate

corrosion.

• Established a foundational assessment of current nanotechnology corrosion research and

development, commercial products, and existing US Army corrosion prevention and control.

• Developed a complex rating scheme to narrow the possible nanotechnology solution to three

products

• Developed test plans, coordinated laboratory testing and evaluation, and analyzed the test results

from selected anti-corrosion nanotechnology products.

• Made recommendations to the customer that would significantly reduce their cost of corrosion by

reducing maintenance time, frequency, man-hours, and increasing operational readiness.

development, testing, operation, and maintenance of the Department of Defense (DoD)

Nanotechnology and Logistics (NanoLog) and the DoD Corrosion Exchange (DoDCE) e-Portals

and Community of Practice(CoP).

• Used work breakdown structures, risk and configuration management, resource loading and

leveling, project monitoring/controlling, and quality assurance to execute the projects according

to the SOW and project plans while remaining in scope, within budget, and on schedule.

• Used software requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and management techniques to

ensure the websites met the needs of the customer and stakeholders.

• Authored white papers, abstracts, and gave presentations promoting the DoDCE at national

conferences such as NACE, MegaRust, Tri-Service, and the US Army Corrosion Summit.

• Increased membership in the NanoLog CoP to 1,000 nanotechnology professionals and the

DoDCE CoP to 2,600 corrosion professionals from Government, Industry, and Academia.

Integrated Product Team (CPC IPT) whose mission was to implement strategies, determine

objectives, and develop and execute plans, procedures, and roadmaps to reduce the overall impact

of corrosion on DoD assets.
