Girls Write Now, pamphlet layout re-design

November 2012 to November 2012

This is an example of a pamphlet design for the non-profit organization based in New York City. The concept

of this re-designs was to the the girls write now brand a more sophisticated feeling since the organization's

point it is to teach high school aged girls the skills that will assist them into admittance's into colleges and

universities. For the concept I chose muted blues and purples offset with a brighter modern green. I wanted

the design to stay clean so I chose a san sheriff font. I chose to use black and white photos to create flow and

unity in the seriousness and cleanliness of the design. The typographic elements, colors, and shapes are

repeated throughout the piece giving unity and continuity which is important with a highly text based design.

I used indesign for the layout text elements and used illustrator to create the graphic timeline and graphs. I

believe that the redesign will give the organization a more serious feel yet still have the ability to reach the

high school aged girls.

"Together" packaging design

The object of this project was to design a series of package designs around the prompt that the fictional

company was to be called "Together". With this I designed my serious around the saying, " Birds of a feather

stick together." And so the bird concept was born. I wanted to give the package design an indie feeling. I

chose birds that I felt were equivalent to the product. For example, for the mens aftershave, I chose a dark

blue-grey color and an illustration of an emperor penguin. As for the indie feeling I chose to use a hand

written font. As for keeping a brand throughout the whole thing, I created a simple logo and used the same

type of illustration for the birds. I created this in illustrator. As for the products having a consumer, I believe

my design would target young adults and up.
