2003 - 2006 MW Manufacturers, Inc, Rocky Mount, VA, Manager, Transportation

& Logistics

Vinyl, wood, and clad window/patio door manufacturer who uses the

principals of lean manufacturing and a behavioral safety philosophy. Direct

operations responsibility for private fleet transportation, shipping,

staging and receiving. Reports number 140+ with direct responsibility of 69

too include 61 over the road truck drivers. Scope of business was in excess

of $300 mm and this location is over $200mm.

2002 - 2003 Collinsville Printing, Inc., Martinsville, VA, Sales

Commercial printer specializing in sheet fed printing with complete design,

binding, printing and warehousing capabilities. Targeted businesses

included normal commercial and industrial accounts too include...furniture

mfg and retail; NASCAR; colleges, high school, college and professional

sports; glass mfg; legal; textiles; distilled beverages and food. Opened

numerous new accounts in the preceding areas. Sales territory included MD,

WVA, VA, NC, SC.

2000 - 2002 XSNventory, Ferrum, VA, Manager

Founder, owner and manager of an e-commerce business dealing with excess

inventories in the furniture, cabinet, flooring, bedding, and wood products

businesses. Creation of concept, Internet site development, business

planning, marketing, sales, implementation, and operational development.

Focus in raw materials, support items and equipment, and finished goods

inventories.

2000 - Blue Ridge Technologies, Martinsville, VA, Advisor

Advisor to start-up paint manufacturing business. Areas of involvement

included sales, marketing, research, funding, and purchasing.

1988 - 1999 Stanley Furniture Company, Stanleytown, VA, Vice President

Purchasing

Promotion from Director of Purchasing. Additional activities included

experience with bartering, creation of supplier "Report Card" system,

implementation "The Goal"/synchronous manufacturing/constraint

manufacturing, suppliers rated Stanley's purchasing department as the

industry's best (formal survey), sold company owned real estate.

1987 - 1988 Stanley Furniture Company, Stanleytown, VA, Director Purchasing

Raw material purchasing responsibility for five plants. Approximately $90 -

100 million in raw material buying

Implemented single source buying program. Traveled throughout United States

and internationally. Reduction of supplier time by 33%. Responsible for

staff of seven. Initiation of CAD/CAM within company.

1984 - 1987 Stanley Furniture Company, Stanleytown, VA, Director Quality

Control and Consumer Affairs

Responsibilities included five plant quality operations in addition to

handling customer field issues associated with furniture manufacturing.

Extensive travel within United States and abroad. Staff of six supervisors

and 16 line inspectors. During 1987, achieved lowest R&A record in history

of company, which dates to the early

1900's, and the marks stood until 1992.

1979 - 1984 Stanley Furniture Company, Stanleytown, VA, Director of

Facilities Engineering

Assisted with plant maintenance. Directed control of loss prevention

control, environmental management, capital budgeting, plant layout, plant

construction, EPA/ OSHA compliance, and boiler operations. Sold company

owned real estate. Managed a staff of 4-12.
