CAREER HISTORY:
Project Manager / Implementation manager on Multiple Ericsson Projects,
Toronto Jan, 2010 - Mar, 2013
Worked on HSPA and LTE NW rollouts, worked on MW and new site build
projects involving civil works, Telecom equipment / shelter deployments,
installation and commissioning of nodeB and eNodeB, OSS deployment
projects, expansions and upgrades, MW integrations and troubleshooting.
Used to make sure that teams are following updated MOPs and all safety
drills and procedures. Used to conduct lessons learnt exercises and make
sure the MOPs are updated and all teams are on board and on same page. Used
to take care of post integration optimizations. I would go through
Installation/provisioning work orders before scheduling tasks, confirm
Radio Network designs and civil work orders are in line with scripts and
MOPs for all planned activities. Try new configurations as per customer
request and make sure they are supported by latest upgrades and sw levels
and share the results with R&D & NPI (New product Intro teams). Conducted
conference calls with Global support centre teams, civil teams, scripting
and NPI teams. Among various accounts I was dealing with included Rogers,
Tbaytel, MTS, and Mobilicity etc. Projects that I was involved with were
WCDMA/LTE/WiMAX technologies. Involved in site acquisition, lease
negotiations, Landlord/building management relationship management etc. I
was able successfully do MW transmission project, besides RF cell sites on
(Rooftop & Greenfields, In-building solutions involving all types of DAS. I
managed numerous projects including new build sites and existing sites
where we rolled out LTE and WCDMA, worked on carrier adds capacity and NW
Augmentation projects. This included end to end delivery as per customer
requirements/MSA; managed Ericsson service providers, and achieved customer
satisfaction by managing relationship after delivering quality projects.
- Project Implementation manager on Rogers LTE rollout. Part of PMO team
which deployed 2000 eNodeBs in one year. It was a very fast paced
project of deployment of new sites on existing, live networks and new
builds.
- Worked on the MW part of the NW rollout and successfully completed
many transmission projects including MW hops, MW hub sites, and we
were mainly using Ericsson Minilink.
- PM for National IP Schema change, NW Health improvement project and
reparenting projects of Rogers, managed CE Additions besides Software
related projects for Rogers Central, Thunder Bay telecom. The scope
includes in building sites also where we connect the Node B and eNode
B sites to new and existing DAS(MIMO, SIMO, SISO), RF Cables and
connectors PIM testing etc.
- Contributed remotely to power line projects where we were putting
NodeBs on street poles and using electric poles for Antennas and RBS
installations.
- Expert in dealing with landlords, building managements, site
acquisition management team and RF teams for selecting site
candidates, getting them qualified / validated from RF team and
completing other milestones and requirements for successful delivery
of cell sites.
- Worked as PM on all In-building solutions, successfully implemented
HSPA and LTE inside Rogers centre, Pearson Airport, TD Towers, and Air
Canada centre. I had to review floor plans, site surveys, pictures,
cable routing, Final cellular design, RND, Transmission design, call
and data testing, review propagation maps, arrange commissioning and
Integration and post integration optimisation etc. and send all
reports
- Worked as a PM / IM on Rogers OSS upgrade projects, Mobilicity project
OSS deployment during their 3G NW rollout, National GSM Rehoming in PM
/ IM perspective, BSC decommissioning, BSC expansions

OSS, from teams in Dallas was part of the routine.

Project Manager, Parsons (Wind Mobile 3G NW Rollout), Toronto
Feb, 09 till Jan, 10
Managed this project from end to end on behalf of Parsons and successfully
deployed around 200 green field and roof top sites as per the agreed scope,
design, and quality. Being PM I was dealing with site acquisition manager
to discuss lease agreements progress on RF selected and validated sites.
Check on the progress of LOS reports besides managing construction managers
and discussing with them the bid walks and milestone reports, besides I
would also go myself on few bid walks and final punch walks for
acceptances. Successfully managed contracts and vendor relations, customer
expectations and requirement gathering, A & E companies work flow and
issues, etc. Worked closely with logistics to deliver Nokia equipment,
steel and other important material for building sites as per NTP forecast
dates. Successfully managed resources using resource levelling and team
building. Used to assist on RFP s for new projects
Telecom Consultant, Network Implementation, Rogers Wireless, Brampton,
Canada Feb 08 - Sep 09
Worked with the Rogers wireless Network Implementation group under PMO, I
managed the implementation of Microwave Transmission network for new and
existing cell sites. The assignment involved working with the respective
group and the vendors to make sure that the new and existing MW hops are
designed, built and upgraded within the timeline and delivery dates as
reflected / forecasted in project management database. Assisted Ericsson
counter parts and provided them the work orders, planning specs, Radio NW
designs, and other inputs. Completed entire MW NW and managed cutovers to
Fibre rings. The MW we build used to carry traffic loads of an OC3 and in
few cases dual OC3 in a different polarity. I was actively involved in
Transmission NW Designing and also worked closely with ransmission
engineering group. . During this project we completed numerous clusters and
replaced ATM nodes with IP nodes.
Program Manager / Regional Project Manager, NSN Feb 06 - Feb 08
Worked with NSN as PM and Program manager and lead cross functional teams
towards successful launch of Telenor GSM / GPRS. These rollout projects
involved RAN part where we rolled out over 6000 BTS sites, Core nodes
including packet core and circuit switched core nodes, worked with all org
levels and cross functional groups including network operations,
Engineering, Procurement, Real estate and internal project management
teams, and the external vendors. Besides carrying out the multi-site
projects of building new BTS sites and putting them into commercial
operation, managed the out sourced Transport work including Fiber optics,
Microwave/radio links, Nokia Siemens BTS Swaps, Network expansions and O&M
teams in their day to day operations, GPRS / EDGE Implementation teams and
also assisted the system integration teams for VAS, emergency response
contact centers interconnection with access and core networks, and
supporting the Client during IP TV service launch. As Program manager I was
monitoring program KPI for project financials like ROI, present value etc
and implemented balanced score cards for performance management.
. Management of both internal and external teams including site
acquisition, geo techs, construction managers, vendors etc during
initiation, planning and execution phases of numerous projects for
timely project deliverables. This included working with the Customer
Unit, Design and Engineering, Regional contractors as well as NSN
integration engineers.
. Identify any cost over runs and budget issues to other zone managers,
identify, monitor and log all risks likely to encounter and strategy
to deal with them in order to mitigate those.
. Managed complete site acquisition process requiring SAR, TSSR and
lease agreements, RFDS, site feasibility/site plans besides site
acceptance testing after construction by ensuring quality and

. Coordinate with Construction managers, Procurement teams and assist
them in material planning, sourcing issues, and assist teams on legal
issues to manage vendors and suppliers as per their contracts terms.

. Planned and executed all in building projects in 5 star hotels,
Airports and arenas for better coverage and NW optimization. This
involved RF surveys, approvals of Final cellular designs, managing
civil works and cable routing for DAS, Combiners, Cables/jumpers PIM
testing, VSWR / optimization and parameter adjustments installed and
extending the Cellular coverage through repeaters and BTS
installations. This also included monitoring and optimization of RSSI

. Carried out a feasibility study over the geographic location
identification and resolution for wireless emergency calls
corresponding to cellular towers.
. Forecasting major milestones in Rollo, e-PM / NOLS and update on
regular basis with all documents including SAR/TSSR, site folders for
tracking/estimation of figures for CMPro, inventory database etc in
order to keep the Capex and Opex below the set up baselines.
. Ensure that the other PMs are clear on scope and their project targets
in the Region are met in terms of progress and cost by using global
tools for cost management for professionals, exercised cost control
strategies in accordance with cost baseline, business process
automation and PM best practices. I also implemented quality
management plan and ensured SQI below the threshold limit and reward
the teams with best site folders, best SQI and less reworks. I also
used to give guidance to teams on Quality standards with emphasis on
quality planning, assurance and control in order to avoid reworks and
keep CAPEX & OPEX within budget limits, in this regard I took
initiatives like resource leveling and optimum utilization during
resource allocation based on best practices and feedback of Steering
committee meetings with senior management

Project Manager, Flash Horizon Inc. Mississauga, Canada May, 02-to-

Flash Horizon used to manufacture VoIP Gateways, bundle them up with their
in house customised sw solutions, dimension and deploy for their worldwide
customers.
. Managed complete SDLC from requirement gathering, high level and
detailed design approvals, customer final acceptance tastings,
deployments, and maintenance. This included for Soft switches, call
shop softwares, billing system etc
. Worked with OEM s for customization of solutions and products.
. Responsibilities included managing deployment of VoIP Equipment and
platforms for Clients, dealing with prototypes, designs, programming
challenges, testing and debugging / troubleshoot work around, besides
installation/commissioning of IP Switches for customer, data
warehousing, network implementation, QA testing and Network management
system setup. Other responsibilities included development and
execution of the test cases, documentation and interface with the
vendors and the developers on defects and performance testing of
various software based solutions by benchmarking & running scripts etc
My job also included finding out the exact business need,
designing/auditing business processes and also project management
processes and methodologies. This being a non structured PMO so we
implemented various Project management processes and best practices
for smooth functioning and implemented change management process to
avoid cost over runs & scope creep.
. Among various projects that I executed in Flash Horizon included
building new POPs for deployment of Cisco 5350, 5400 switches for call
processing and long distance solutions for Interconnection with
telecom operators for Least Cost Routing, testing and commissioning of
routes. I also carried out the implementation of e911 service for
residential customers connected through VoIP network for which i did
the overall planning in order to make sure the service is available
while customer is at its designated address and in case if he moves to
a new location he is immediately prompted to update his new location
through web access. In all these projects proper resource planning,
work break down to activity and work package level, scheduling and
effective communication management plans along with risk management
plans was the key to the successful delivery of these projects.
. Managed the relations between R&D and customers during development and
customization of various VoIP and telecom products like Call shops,
soft switches, and IP PBX and telecom dialers for alternate routing.
Business Process Analyst, NTG Clarity Networks, Toronto, Oct
2000-to- Apr 2002
NTG provides OSS solutions to service providers and large enterprise
networks. It has its own product called NTS for Customer Relations, Network
Operations, Planning, Asset Management, and Field Operations. My experience
includes following:Performed UAT on Customer applications, this included
developing some of the test cases and interfaces with the developers on
bugs besides assisting teams as business analyst during development of
middleware/EAI. I Interacted with NTG R & D during their assistance in

- Team member of Service Order Delivery Process Team for Allstream, Barrie,
Canada where I was involved in network utilization by grooming, migrations
and conducting physical audits besides experience working with tools on
centralized network inventory management.
Engineer & Team Lead, Rikans International, Lahore, Pakistan
May 1997 - June 2000
Rikans was project consultants for various Telecom, HVAC and Energy
production turnkey projects for government, hospitals, Shopping Malls and
other consumers. The projects were multi dimensional and were based on
customer requirements. As an Engineer and a project lead I was supposed to
work closely with site acquisition teams, construction managers, civil and
telecom engineers, i worked closely with design and testing teams also
reviewing their schedules, verifying scope, allocating resources and
delivering milestones as per PM Best practices etc. The responsibilities
also included participating in bidding and pre-qualifications besides
working on Wi-Fi and LAN/WAN solutions. Few of the projects were mission
critical as well.
Project Lead, Electronics Base Workshop, Lahore, Pakistan Sep 1992 to
Apr 1997
Started as a Project engineer and then worked my way up to Lead role, I was
managing a team of 30 Telecom technicians. We were assigned various
projects for 2 way radio sets and telecom test equipment overhauling and
repairs besides wireless / MW deployment. Responsibilities included assign
the overall scope of work to group members as per scheduled work, assign
deliverables and track them, allocation of resources, conflict resolutions
and team member's trainings. I also built few MW repeater sites and handled
site acquisition and site engineering matters.
