NUMETRICS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (NMS, acquired by McKinsey), Cupertino, CA 1998-2005
Director of Statistical Modeling (2000-2005)
Developed highly sophisticated algorithms for semiconductor design performance benchmarking and
planning through data mining and statistical analyses; and led testing and implementation of algorithms.
Developed NMS’ proprietary IC (integrated circuit) design complexity normalization algorithm, which
enabled the first IC design productivity benchmarking in the semiconductor industry. Managed software
engineers to implement and verify five generations of the algorithm.
Led field engineers and software engineers in preparing over 100 presentations to executives at more
than 30 leading semiconductor companies, showing clients their benchmarking and diagnostic results
that are critical for decision-making.
Architected and designed a comprehensive business case module to quantify expected lifetime volume
and profitability of IC projects and portfolios, incorporating market diffusion model, competitive market
share model, and cost models. The module has attracted wide usage in client companies.
