Working in the Risk team in a project which processes the trades from

various markets with a view to net the trade positions, mark to market

and finalize the margin requirements for each of DTCC's participants.

Trades arrive from DTCC's Universal Trade Capturing systems and

The system is a packaged system known as DBS Millennium General

Ledger. The system maintained the books and records of the company.

Many extensions were made in the journal preparation area, receipt of

journal batch files from various sub systems to aid the auditing and

administrative functions. Many reporting needs were identified and

programs were added to suit the special needs. As the age of the

system progressed, some reporting got migrated to Hyperion

consolidations and Essbase reporting tools and I programmed and

implemented the down loads for these down stream systems.

After the bankruptcy, I served the functions of producing special data

down loads and needed reports to various bankruptcy administrators.

I was involved in the conversion of Brokers compensation system from

IBM Mainframe Cobol based batch system to a Sequel Server / Micro

Focus COBOL based system. The main project was being implemented by a

software vendor. My main responsibilities were to cut over the files

from the mainframe, test out the accuracy of the compensations between

the old and new system and provide status of progress to IT manager.

I was also involved in extracting data from the company's trade

settlement files to the back office accounting group. The trade

settlements per se were done using ADP but the back office needed some

special extracts from the trade settlement files (B206 and B112).
