analysis with a Spectromax, Leco oxygen machine, and macro/micro-hardness
testing
• Created reports for customers and company quality records with detailed testing
operations and approval or disapproval of the product

(furnace temperature, time, quench rate, tempering, deep freeze, etc) for various
bearings and products sent through heat treat
• Attended classes to properly read engineering prints
• Inspected and measured numerous parts (parallelism, flatness, roundness, surface
finish, run out, concentricity, etc) making sure they matched engineering prints
and were within specification
• Worked with a wide range of steel such as: 52100 MOD 1, 2, and 3, 8620, 4140,
836A

• Created micro-samples of defects in steel to determine how,
where, and why a crack propagated
• Developed tables, forms, and reports using Microsoft Access
for inputting data to establish a paper-less system
• Helped create tables and charts for PowerPoint presentations to
determine how much time is lost/wasted in the mill due to cobbles, size changes,
