Exchange/Server Administrator 10/06-Present
I provide daily monitoring, maintenance and management of all windows
servers in the companies AD, both physical servers and those virtualized
via vSphere (4.1). This includes management of antivirus software on
each, and general management and maintenance of such servers as Domain
Controllers (2000/2003/2008R2), file servers, print servers, SQL servers
(2008 R2), Antivirus servers (SEP 10/11), and Exchange servers (2007 and
2010) ; backup & recovery of mail data (SMSFME 5/6.5), and any needed
software patching, critical or otherwise. I also have been specifically
tasked with the maintenance and management of the Blackberry (4/5) and
Good Mobile Messaging Servers (5/6.3) and their handheld devices. This is
an 'on call' position, in which I am expected to troubleshoot critical
issues, should they arise, at any time during on duty hours or off,
receiving server status update texts to my cell phone. In my time in this
position, the company has reorganized several times. This has
necessitated migrating several hundred users to new mail servers and
their associated hardware and data to new AD Domains three times in the
last five years.
. Creation, deletion, support and maintenance of user account
information across the organization including rights, security,
mailbox permissions, and distribution groups.
. Support and maintenance of PC hardware and software including new
computer setup, workstation imaging, software installation, upgrades,
preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, as required.

hardware and software including racking and build of new Windows
servers, software installation, upgrades, scheduled and preventive
maintenance, and troubleshooting, as required.

My duties included at different times, being the single individual
taking telephone help requests on a dedicated line, as well as 'hands
on', physical server and workstation repair work on a variety of
Microsoft Operating Systems; Windows 95 to XP as well as troubleshooting
of both hardware and software, involving backup and restoration of
customer data when the situation warranted.
I also had assisted the build and software teams, taking on the roles
of physical system assembly as well as all aspects of software load and
the building/maintenance of RAID arrays on a variety of custom built
servers and workstations.
Further, I had been designated the Administrator of the companies
Exchange 2000/2003 servers and had been tasked with the related private
store maintenance.
U.S. Army, National Guard Milford, MA
Computer Specialist 8/98-4/04
I spent five years as Email Administrator, providing all levels of
administration for the state Army Guards email system and as primary
point of contact for all issues relating to MS Outlook, OWA, MS Exchange
(5.5). This position also involved creating user accounts, assigning
group privileges, and network drive (SAN) access, creating/maintaining
mailboxes, assigning mailbox permissions, distribution lists, public
folders, OWA access and writing FAQ's for much of the above. I also
maintained and monitored servers in a network that grew from a single
site, with 250 user accounts, to a statewide network with over 3,000
mailboxes and Custom Recipients. Total server downtime within that period
less than one month.
I also spent five years as principal party tasked with retrieving
classified message traffic from higher headquarters up to and including
'Secret'; also maintenance of the technology dedicated to this task.
One year as Webmaster for the Mass Army National Guard. All related
training accomplished 'on-the-job'.
SUMMARY
Having held a secret clearance several times in my career, I am
trustworthy, disciplined, focused, have strong interpersonal and
communication skills; extensive server maintenance and user-level desktop
support experience. I am dependable, self motivated, hard working, and
capable of working independently or in a team. I am also willing, able
and interested to learn difficult new skill sets.
Also, I've held several positions in the past that placed me in
management positions over other employees. This includes but is not
limited to formerly owning a small company that was run by a small army
of volunteers.
