BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
1997 - Present: Engineering Manager, Philips Medical Systems, Cleveland,
Ohio
Both project and personnel management of technical teams involved with the
direct development of advanced medical scanner equipment. Duties include
FDA regulatory documentation of areas such as fault tree analysis, risk
management file, system level design documents, requirement documents and
design documentation. Duties also include budgetary estimates and
scheduling of engineering resources for projects.
Key Accomplishments Include:
. Successfully lead multifunctional groups through the development the
CT portion of a combination CT/PET scanner. Directed system,
electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing groups from the
requirement collection stage through first pilot lots.
. Lead the software development teams for several generations of CT
scanners. Current generation of scanners is geared towards the cardiac
market and is critical to the future success of the business.
. Awarded management awards for my efforts at completing business
critical projects on time.
. Successfully lead multinational software resources through the process
of developing software for a new family of CT scanners with 6, 10, 16
slice technologies. Timeline for this project was compressed and
critical to complete in order for the business to be competitive and
to realize financial expectations.
. Successfully lead embedded software development team through the
process of making the primary CT scanner platform upon which all
current Philips Medical CT Scanners are now based.
. Invented the Multi-Segment Slip Ring (Patented) for CT Scanners.

1989 to 1997: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Tremco - BF Goodrich Inc.,
Beachwood, Ohio
Responsible for defining the electronic process control hardware and
software used in production plants across the US. Duties include acting as
technical liaison between R&D and production facilities, developing custom
sensor techniques for the production equipment, and developing production
process control and monitoring systems using 'C', embedded
microcontrollers, and PLCs. Developed custom optical scanning system for
quality control of extrusion lines. Optical scanning system removed primary
quality defect - system was so successful it was applied to all production
lines. Product quality was improved dramatically.
Responsible for defining the hardware and software required for tire
production test equipment and quality related data collection equipment.
Duties have included designing both the hardware and software required for
tire uniformity computer simulators, as well as field related R&D on high
speed tire uniformity machines.
1986 to 1989: Sr. Test Engineer, Westinghouse Oceanic Division, Cleveland,
Ohio
Responsible for new automated test station and fixture design including
both hardware and software design. Duties included supervision of
technicians, electronic design, and software programming. Past duties
included aiding in the design of a custom computer controlled test station
which was used to test electronic production circuit cards. Duties relating
to this project included hardware design and software programming in
several languages - namely 'C', ATLAS, and HP BASIC.
1984 to 1986: Staff Engineer, Hughes Aircraft Company, Long Beach,
California
Responsible for the design, documentation, and system integration of the
electronics for the OPTECAL (computer controlled optics bench) program
which used two deformable mirrors. Duties included interfacing with
customer and project management, integration and specification of Hewlett
Packard (HP) Multiprogrammer equipment, design and documentation of the
interface/driver circuit cards for stepper actuators, design and
documentation for required interface cabling between HP equipment and
discrete sensors/motors drives, supervision of manufacturing of required
hardware, and integration of the complete OPTECAL electronic system.
