Professional Experience
2007-2011 Permian High School Odessa, TX
Advanced Placement and Pre-Advanced Placement Chemistry Teacher
Assigned to the PreAP class in my first year of teaching. Showing new ideas, initiative, and dedication to the
students, succeeded in developing enough interest, from both the administration and the students, in the program
to start up the secondary level Advance Placement class. This, at only 23 years of age and in the second year as a
teacher, brought me to the head of the Chemistry department. I was placed in charge of the chemical room for the
school, made to manage the supplies for the entire science department as needed, thus also having to manage a
budget as well. Also, as a teacher I was in charge of all standard teacher responsibilities, designing education plans
in two week blocks, monitoring the hallways, designing exams as needed, and participating in overall Science
department meetings, as well as designing the Chemistry department meetings.
2003-2007 Fargo Youth Commission Fargo, ND
Supervisor: Washington Elementary
Was assigned to be the supervisor/manager of the Washington Elementary School edition of the Fargo youth
commission. Started at Lincoln Elementary, but was quickly promoted inside the program due to exceeding
expectations of the administration. I advanced in the program due to being highly organized, de dicated to the
children I cared for, and my promotion was influenced by the parents I skillfully communicated with daily.
1999-2007 Cavalier Air Service Cavalier, ND
Ground Crew Supervisor
Was in charge of mixing chemicals necessary for loading into crop duster airplanes. Was in charge of assuring all
necessary chemicals were available and on hand, thus in charge of ordering. Also, managed other employees,
making sure they were ready and available, because work days were from 5:30 am until 11:00 pm throughout the
summer. Controlled weather watch, most chemicals required 2 -4 hours of remaining on the plants to succeed,
therefore if rain was in the area, the pilots or ground crew needed to know . Was in charge of training new
employees. Showed dedication by always being the first worker on site every morning, and was always willing to
be the last to leave. Always demanded excellence from the ground crew, working within just a few feet from the
moving propeller of the airplane, as it was gassed, the windshield cleaned, and volatile chemicals loaded.
Projects
Effects of Simultaneous Delivery of Silver and Zinc Oxide Microspheres on the Texas Tech
Efficacy of Healing Acute Wounds
Project Designer of Ag and ZnO Microsphere Healing Gel
Succeeded in increasing the encapsulation percentage of Silver and Zinc Oxide ( 2% to 54%) by changing
parameters. These new ideas were presented at the May 2013 IIE Conference and Expo in San Juan. By combining
elements in the microspheres, this enhanced both the antibacterial and wound healing capabilities with the final
tough being provided by the gel. This study demanded excellence, dedication, new ideas and initiative. The results
have proven to be worthy of publication, which the manuscript is in the process of final edits, and is patent
pending. The results have also proven worthy of purchase by large medical companies, which are bidding on it at
this time. Used Several techniques, such as: spectrophotometry, ultrasonication, freeze -drying, electrospinning,
tested in vitro biofilms, 3-D tissue penetration, scanning electron microscopy, and in vivo tissue studies.
Effects of a Microsphere Based Injectable or Digestible Extended Release Texas Tech
Antiseizure Drug
Project Designer of an Alternate Form of an Antiseizure Based Medication Drug Delivery System
Succeeded in the development an extended release antiseizure based drug delivery system. Exceeded expectations
by holding off the seizure inducer for double the time of the base control market medication. The new idea of the
drug was formed by the microspheres influenced off of the skillfulness of parameters I had previously created. By
taking the initiative to try encapsulating the drug in this, progress was made in the antiseizure field. Dr. K.J.
Oommen, a Neurologist who has made several forms of antiseizure drugs, even appearing in Time Magazine, read
the results and with his expertise has backed this accomplishment and wants t o be involved in the next part of the
project, which is patent pending.
Localization of DNA Sequences That Regulate Expression of the Antigen 5-Related UTPB Gene in
the Adult Cardia of Drosophila
Localized the Expression of the Antigen 5-Related Gene in the D. melanogaster
Used several DNA and RNA based techniques (RT-PCR and protein, DNA, RNA, Assays, in situ hybridization, as well
as UV-Spectrophotometry) to confirm and alter the gene expression of the pMP1 and pMP2 genes of the D.
melanogaster.
