Performed on a team of engineering professional and interacted with customers, IT Staff, and high-level officials to
define and achieve required IA objectives for the organization. Led security architectural design and
implementation to ensure compliance with NIST, DoD, DISA, NSA and OMB directives such as 8500.1, 8500.2,
DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIGS) and FISMA directive for Information Assurance.
Performed vulnerability checks using DoD intrusion detection tools, Army DISA Gold, AR 25-1, and AR 25-2.
Implemented vulnerability assessments, including the development of risk mitigation strategies for a variety of
engineering efforts on both unclassified and classified networks. Responsible for executing security procedures and
tools, developing systems administration standard operating procedures, resolving hardware and software interface
and interoperability problems, and ensuring systems availability. Ensured IAVM compliance for all network and
server systems under the network security engineer’s purview. Documented security solutions that were tracked in
FISMA System Security Plans (SSP). Organized the setup and operation of the first Joint Network Node (JNN) at
COS Kalsu which provided over 800 SIPR/NIPR data and voice services which were critical to the Briga de's
success. Managed, monitored, and troubleshot two Joint Network Nodes (JNN), ten Command Post Nodes (CPN),
and over 500 switches and routers using SNMPc. Strategically planned and implemented the design, placement, and
installation of all cabling and physical layouts of the routers and switches on the Contingency Operating Station that
handled secure and non-secure voice and data. Managed the organization’s Unclassified and Classified Share Point
portals consisting of over 500 end users.

Supervised state of the art voice and data communications at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar and Kandahar Airfield,
Afghanistan; provided essential C4I system support for complex networks that connected users throughout
Southwest Asia to the Global Information Grid during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Responsible for the
accountability, installation, operation, maintenance, defense and supervision of a campus wide Technical Control
Facility and its associated routers, switches, VOIP, VTC, telephone, data and encryption (COMSEC) devices,
campus wide Help Desk, an AN/TSC-93D X-Band tactical satellite communications shelter, Low-Bandwidth High
Gain X-Band Antenna (LHGXA), two prime movers and power generation units. Held diverse duties including
managing Soldier and civilian contractors, establishing vendor relationships, and business operations for installing,
operating, and maintaining telephone service with DSN access, local area network installation and management,
NIPRNET and SIPRNET access, information assurance, outside plant installation and repair, and helpdesk services.
