Project Title: Diode clamped 3 level inverter based battery/super
capacitor direct integration scheme for renewable energy systems
Description: This project describes how to avoid the serious power
stability problems by using battery bank and super capacitor bank. The
combination of battery and super capacitor provides an excellent match that
can cover a wide range of power and energy requirements. As a result, power
quality enhancement using batteries and super capacitors is actively
pursued in the field of renewable energy as evident. No need of DC-DC
converters. Overall system efficiency increases. System cost reduces.
Mini Project:
Project Title: Transformer faults and its protection using DGA analysis in
locos
Description: This project is about different types of faults and
protection of transformers and also testing of transformer oil in
electric locomotives. DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis) is the one of the best
method to predict the transformer faults. Based on the DGA analysis faults
of the transformer identified. Some gases are produced to indicate the type
of fault. Transformer gases in oil are extracted from oil and analyze the
quantity of gases in a specific amount of oil. By observing percentages of
different gases present in the oil, one can predict the internal condition
of transformer.
