Position: Design engineer, Manager of hardware design
Participating in the development and production of highly advanced gamma ray spectrometers
and neutron detectors for geophysical, nuclear safety and security applications. Large radiation
monitoring portal systems for the steel industry.
Supervision of contract designers and manufacturers. Designing power, analog and digital
circuits with schematic capture, circuit simulation and PCB layout. Writing MCU firmware.
Troubleshooting, debugging and testing prototypes, updating design, PCB layout and
documentation. Design and build production test fixtures and write test procedures, supporting
production.
Evaluate design for EMC and electrical safety, lab test and obtain certificates for UL/FCC/CE
compliance.
Supporting field tests in Savannah River National Laboratories
EXPLORANIUM LTD. (1995-2006)
Later became SAIC-EXPLORANIUM, currently closed.
Position: R&D Certification Engineer
Participating in the design and production of airborne, mobile and hand held gamma ray spectrometers,
neutron detectors and large radiation monitoring portals for the steel industry, Border Protection and
Homeland Security.
Designing analog, digital, power and high voltage circuits, schematic capture and PCB layout. Write
MCU firmware and test procedure. Evaluate design, test prototypes and update documentation. Support
production.
Test products for applicable ANSI/UL/FCC/CE requirements and recommend changes.
Supporting field tests in Nevada Test Site.
